Threads

Felt like this deserves a new thread, though its similar to the other thread I made.

It's possible to void yourself out anywhere on the plateau, which will spawn you outside of the shrine of resurrection. This includes inside the shrine of resurrection and the tower before you're supposed to be able to.

Have a save file in the cryonis trial. On a clean save, the shrine of resurrection should autosave right away. Load into the cryonis save, create a pillar in the water and climb down it and open the inventory on the same frame. Then from the inventory load that autosave.

From there it'll void you out, and you'll spawn out of the shrine without the slate. Of course this'd be considered ng+ though.

Based on the minor testing I've done, it could save 20 to 30 seconds, though instead of warping to shrine of resurrection after bombs (you can't warp if you do this), you'll have to void yourself out again.

I found this a couple days ago, can't get any videos of it but there are a couple videos (not much, hasn't been documented too well) floating around.

Basically, when you start to climb down anything (except ladders for some reason), some value is saved into memory (assuming its some value to tell the game where to attach link). This value isn't wiped from memory when you load another file, so when loading into a shrine there's a large displacement from where you load.

There are two main factors that influence this position where you spawn.

  1. Where you are in the overworld (also works in shrines), scaled to around 1/5th. Testing has shown that the hyrule castle courtyard is approximately 0,0 on the overworld, so around there is where you need to climb down. You can also make ice blocks in certain shrines, but it wont displace you much.

  2. There is an approximate 21.5 unit displacement based on the direction you're facing when you climb down.

Basically when theres a prompt to climb down, press A and open the inventory at the same time, then load a save file thats in a shrine, you'll spawn away from where you're supposed to. Doesn't work well at all on the overworld unfortunately.

Don't really want to call these glitches as they serve no purpose right now.

A couple things I've found.

  1. You can't void out while warping. Usually this is fairly pointless anyways because you wouldn't be able to warp in a void out spot, but most animations in the game delay the warp until they are done. Side attacking by sidestepping and attacking, then landing in a bog where you would drown, but warping before you land causes you to drown and warp at the same time.

If you would game over, you'll warp and end up with 1/4 hearts. I'm guessing that the heart values are clamped to 1/4 at all times to prevent stuff like this.

  1. The "frozen" state is pretty broken (as far as broken goes in this game). Unlike most other animations, it doesn't end when you hit the ground or water. As a result, it is possible to delay cutscenes, and even save in a trigger where cutscenes would occur.

Like the other glitch, if you land in a bog frozen, it doesn't void you out until you've broken the ice. Oddly though, it won't damage you.

Unfortunately warping and voiding out at the plateau breaks the ice instantly, which is odd because the bog doesn't. (also, can't get frozen while warping)

  1. If you "void out" over the plateau with 1 heart left, it doesn't actually void you out, but kills you instead, meaning anything that would be prevented from voiding out still works. (which is nothing anyways as of writing this)

I'm absolutely sure chucklefish knows about this glitch as todays patch attempted to fix it but...

If you're sitting or sleeping when you're supposed to be warped to a level, it warps to the position of your chair.

This used to be pretty easy since you could just sit down in the captain's chair and load a mission, but that has been fixed. It just warps you back instantly.

On the other hand it doesn't warp you if you first quit back to the character selection screen then sit down.

As far as I've found, this isn't super useful except for the floran mission where it warps you right near the boss. (The only other mission where it doesnt spawn you OoB is the hylotl mission, but I don't think it's faster.)

I'll get a video soon, if coordinates are figured out, it could be possible to just warp right to the end of each mission, though I can't see this being discovered before this gets patched out.

Saw on another video that putting a core in a power armour/getting out of the power armour puts you at the back of the power armour, letting you clip into the wall.

The problem is, you can't get out of the power armour if your back is facing the wall, but if you face away from the wall, get out and almost immediately face 180 degrees from the wall, it'll eject you into the wall, allowing you to clip through. If done properly, you can clip the power armour into the wall as well (this is pretty hard), which allows you to get it through the wall as well.

I haven't tested sequence breaking too much, but you can skip the puzzle for the railroad, its a lot faster this way.

Video quality is pretty bad and I apologize for that.
