NintendoSpy is the standard software for capturing input from basically all Nintendo consoles.

Not sure how your software stacks up to it, but most people use NintendoSpy with whatever hardware they build/get built for them for taking the inputs from the controller.

Run the game until you’re happy with it? Try to build a community around it? Create your own LB for the game in a google doc?

There’s countless places you can take this game from here. Not every game will get an LB on this site, and just having the game on the site won’t make it all that much more visible either.

Just run the game, upload your PBs to YouTube and have fun.

Because ACE is much more complex than that and the game is smarter than that. ACE involves more than just a sprite overflow, but more than that, the game protects against ACE.

I had it backwards in my initial post because I hadn’t messed with it in so long - in the graveyard with the magical sword in First Quest, you can only spawn 9 additional ghinis instead of 10 because the game reserves the 11th sprite for the staircase. The same thing would happen here - you could max out the sprite limit minus 1 because the game reserves one spot for the staircase.

Even in FDS 1.0/1.1 the game does this. The one exception is for the staircase revealed via flute. That staircase isn’t reserved in the FDS version, thus the overflow can occur (along with all the other factors you need).

^ came to report him too. One post is a weird advertisement to his website and the second post is a carbon copy, word for word of another post he responded to with his website link again

Look in the KH series forum at the very first post. It’s pinned.

How do you not know what software you’re using? You have to run a program to start recording, you should know what you’re running.

Regardless, use something like OBS to record so you wont have these issues. There are plenty of guides online about how to set it up and use it.

I notice you’re in Sweden. PAL consoles are notorious for running slower and loading slower than their NTSC counterparts. I don’t know if that holds true for more modern consoles like the WiiU, maybe someone else from a PAL region knows more about that than I do.

TA != segmented, don’t get them confused.

Segmented runs involve splitting the run into segments, usually based around save points and doing each segment a lot until you get a time you’re happy with for that segment. Then you repeat for each segment.

In a TA you can’t pause the timer and retry a portion of the run, if you stop the timer you stop playing and when you resume it’s from that same point.

No. A key part of ACE is that the sprite overflow comes from the flute revealing a staircase. Even if you reach the sprite limit with these duplicated armoses, when you try to walk into the one on the right to reveal the staircase, nothing will happen and the game won’t let the staircase spawn. I’m also not sure if these duped armoses work towards the sprite limit, I never tried to see if they stop spawning. So that’s another reason it won’t work.

This can be seen in the graveyard too - max out the ghinis and try to open the grave to the magical sword - the grave won’t move.

ACE works because the flute staircase in the graveyard in 2nd Quest on FDS doesn’t have a check to see if the sprite limit is reached. That’s what gives you the ability to overflow it and get ACE.

Pausing the timer isn’t allowed because then it turns the run into a Time Attack instead of a Real Time Attack. The latter is the commonly accepted timing format for doing runs, I don’t know of many communities that allow TA, RTA has been prominent for a while now.

Even for long runs, you just get used to it and find time to stretch, eat, etc. For extremely long runs, most people might step away for a while, but they still keep the timer running.

Move the IL boards onto this site. Only bring over the runs that have verifiable proof. There really isn't a reason to use Cyberscore at all since this site can handle ILs pretty well for the most part (especially in a game like this were ILs are very straightforward). Keeping 2 separate boards on 2 sites won't harm anything, but it doesn't make sense to me.

Keep the ILs set up already here with each track, but add an additional category for "Fastest Race" or something. That way for each track there is one category for the fastest lap and another for the fastest race on that track (sum up each lap if the game doesn't do it for you at the end, I can't remember).

That should (mostly) satisfy whatever Mangeyhunter did this morning in terms of "segmented any%" since one can just add up the IL times to find out what the theoretical segmented time is.

That's my 2 cents.

This is most likely a bot. Their only other post is an obvious spam message that never got deleted (they were posting in Talk for support with Eve Online).

Not to mention this post doesn't make a whole lot of sense in regards to streaming to a "client" of some kind. If this isn't a bot, I'll let them tell me otherwise. If they don't, then OpieOP

Nice memes.

I have no idea what runs you’re talking about, but more than likely the runs were verified before the new rules were put into place for sub 90 minute times. Since those runs were verified at one time they wouldn’t be removed, it’s just that no new sub 90 runs will be verified if they violate the updated rules.

@SnowManBob the filters aren’t set up correctly.

Go to the Sierra Veteran Wing and go Filters -> 3rd Difficulty Filter (why they have 3 I have no idea) -> Pandemic/Any and your run should show up now

These forums aren’t the place to get help with ROMs or emulation.

But if you can’t properly extract your emulator from a compressed archive then you probably didn’t downloaded a very good/secure emulator.
