From the rules
Video proof with a timer on-screen required
So no, a screenshot is not acceptable for the LBs.
Remember to always check the rules for a game as they usually contain all of the information you need for what is required for submissions (you can find the Rules button on the LBs for a game in the top right corner of the board if you’re unfamiliar with the site layout).
This is completely unrelated as others here have already covered most of what I would say related to your initial post, but it’s probably not a good idea to have your email as your username (if your current username is indeed your real email). You might want to change that, its not really a good idea to share something like that on a public forum.
Other people have reported borked notifications (I know I didn’t get one for a liked post earlier). Volvagia said nothing looked different in the code, but it looks like it’s not just you seeing the issue.
The biggest issue with emulator is often input delay. While his can be mitigated with decent quality gaming monitors, most people who play on emulator have a harder time learning certain tricks or mechanics because they have to deal with slight input delay. This is more prominent for older games and consoles where the gold standard is using real hardware on a CRT.
So that’s one disadvantage you might encounter depending on the games you’re thinking of running. One advantage is accessibility. Emulator provides an easy setup (no need for a capture card, a splitter, etc) and gives you chance to try out a run or a game. That way if you don’t like it, you didn’t spend any money buying real hardware or a copy of the game etc.
It doesn’t sound like a SLOBS problem, it sounds like an OBS in general problem since SLOBS is just a fork of the original.
That being said, no, I’ve never heard of this issue with OBS. I’m not entirely sure how OBS would crash the emulator since they are two independent programs that really aren’t interacting in anyway aside from OBS picking up the video output.
But when you say it crashes it, does the emulator just do a hard crash and the program closes? Does the video/audio freeze? Does the screen just go black? I’d maybe try a re-download of the emulator and run it by itself for a while without OBS or XSplit open and see if it happens then too.
In the future, don’t revive a 2 year old thread, it’s bad forum etiquette. It can be assumed that answer was reached outside of here if this post is so old.
But yes, PS2 emulation is wildly inaccurate and doesn’t properly emulate lag or load times (load times can vary on the same computer) so that’s why it’s not allowed for any PS2 KH games.
The short answer is “yes you can”, the long answer is below.
I mean I guess you could, but I feel like submitting a 100% run to an Any% Category is a silly idea because it will be slow. It’s like sure, you could submit a 4 hour run of OOT 100% to the Any% board but it doesn’t make sense because the run is so much longer than a standard Any%.
Now if the 2 categories are so similar that they only have small differences and vary in time by a few seconds, then the argument could be made that having 2 categories is pointless since there isn’t enough variance between them.
Oh, yeah, I guess that could be. I just wanted to figure out what the actual desired size was since it might change price a little.
I don’t have any suggestions off the top of my head right now but is this a typo
Storage: 6 GB available space
because I’m pretty sure this isn’t even enough space to run a Windows OS. Hell, most laptops won’t come with anything less than 500 GB nowadays and a lot will offer 1TB.
Yeah, just do what Faizing said. Either of those options is perfect.
If for some strange reason you don’t want to do either of those, another option is that you buy a standard def capture card like a gv-usb2 ($40) and capture the PS3 over composite. Obviously it won’t look as good, but it’s an alternative.
No, this is actually the worst way to contact the mods. There is probably a 0% chance any of the mods will see this since posting here does not generate any notifications (it really doesn’t do anything).
The mods for that game were online just a few hours ago, so post in the game’s forum or reach out to the mods on their social media links if you have questions or concerns.
Huh, I never knew that. That’s pretty interesting.
Well if the console works with SCART, my bet is on the s-video cable being bad. The only really reliable s-video is the one straight from Nintendo (although it’s like $70 if you’re lucky) and a lot of off brand ones tend to have various issues. There are some off brand ones that aren’t bad, but it can be a crapshoot
@Sunrize while not exactly what you’re looking for, you can bookmark https://speedrun.com/randomgame and then keep hitting that to get a random game on the site. Unfortunately, you’ll have to keep trying until you get a game with a time that’s the length you’re looking for.
Post in the game’s forum and/or reach out to the mods via their social media links on their profile.
