Ohio, USAIt also changes how fast the inventory works. Definitely shaves off some time. Not a lot but some. I think the stairskating is faster also in 120.
I have successfully done this on the XBSX at this time on a 60hz 4k tv multiple times. It's tough to do with a controller. Less room for error than with a mouse and keyboard. That's why I had to find a different line and when to turn and quickly as possible to make the strat work. It just depends if people want or need to save the few seconds from running around the long way. I'll have a run up on the boards soon with all the strats I am showing. I am not happy with the times so far. I need to work on the boss fights more to really save time. My best run is just over 48 minutes. I would like a 46 min run.
The first two times I almost made it. It was the switch from 120 to 60fps that changed the timing on the turn a little. You have to run a wider line into the bubbles because controllers don't turn as fast as keyboard and mouse. As soon as your first step is in the bubbles, turn and follow the line shown. I have the controller up so you can see the inputs. I show my controller settings at the beginning. I hope this helps console runners perform this strat to help save time.
Nothing to apologize for. I was just wondering if the rules were adjusted because I haven't been running for a few months. The new DLC and 3rd person makes me want to run again. Outside of that, it was a great console run.
I know the grab the gold mask early without dying is possible on console. I've done it a few times on casual but not on hardcore yet. The other walk in the library through the goop is low percentage. I only got away with it twice but died more times than I can count. It's about a 2 min time save for the gold mask from what I can see. Are you willing to reset at around 16 min for the second skip or a few min on the first walk around. The 2nd jumping off the ladder works almost every time on console.
I was watching the PS5/SX Hardcore WR Shadows of Rose. At the 19 min mark of the video, there is a "death" when attempting to use the pc strat trying to get the gold mask early. The game is continued to the end. Does this mean deaths are allowed in console runs?
There are already a few high framerate submissions including WR that have been accepted by the moderators. Hope this helps.
There are already 2 runs approved with the high framerate mode. So I think it is allowed. On pc both 60 and 120 fps is used for the same categories. I think there is only a few seconds of advantage because of time bleed for the cut scenes. It was agreed there wasn't enough of a difference to have separate categories for fps. The same should apply to consoles.
A 50 dollar external SSD can make up much of the difference. Just make sure it's 3.0 at least. I used a ssd for my xbox one s and it made a huge difference in load times. The usb is faster than the SATA inside the ps4 and xbox base models.

Xbox Series X G1 fight Leon-Hardcore. This shows the high fps very well.
You need a tv or monitor that can run 120hz refresh rate. Now most 4k tv have the false 120 but they still work. Go to settings in the Xbox and see if you can activate the 120hz setting. That allows the high frame rate to be turned on.

If you are using the internal hard drive. It will do this in several areas of the game because the internal hard drive isn’t fast enough to load some areas. That is what gives you the black loading screen. I use an external ssd to fix the issue. You don’t need a big one. A small 250 gig ssd works well. Make sure it’s a 3.0 usb ssd also. Makes a big difference and will save you time on your run. Just have any game you are speedrunning on the ssd. You can store it on the internal when not running and just move it when you want to speedrun
Shot one round in a knife only run and it ended up 5 seconds faster then WR. Console assisted no apartment. SMH all my fault too.
I love the multi_slashes in RE3R knife only. On controller, you want the knife and handgun in spots on the d pad that's easily reached by you . I have the the gun and knife next to each other. Up and left are the two i use, that way my thumbs can work together on the dpad. Yes the right thumb has to reach the d pad. I use xbox, so it isn't that bad. Probably harder on Playstation. What I suggest is to not think so hard during the fight on the run. It is all muscle memory from practice and you need that to work. If you overthink it, it won't work. I know that for a fact. I think it's easier at 60fps also. I am more consistent at 60fls
I’ve played the no intro on pc a couple times. Actually missed the apartment sequences. It got me in the mood. Just my opinion.
I definitely think a handgun only run would be nice. I have messed with it and it is a fun run. We would just have to know if the more powerful handguns are allowed. Maybe a ng+ karambit only where you start off a finished game with the karambit in hand at the beginning. Not sure how the other weapons picked up during a normal run would work. that would be an interesting discussion.
