There's quite a few times that are tied to the second, but I imagine that they're not tied down to the millisecond. I think future runs should be timed in millisecond and perhaps retime the top two 100 Lines runs to see who really is first place.

I'm a new runner and I need to learn how everything works for the Full-Game runs so I'd prefer to do some IL runs first, here's mine for if/when the IL leaderboard gets made:

Could be a neat idea for a category extension leaderboard though, not that this game particularly needs it.

As we saw a couple of days ago, trademarks were made for Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution. Of course that doesn't confirm any sort of release yet but I imagine it's very likely to happen.

If Link Evolution gets released, what will that do to the leaderboard? Will it be updated or will there be a new leaderboard entirely?

I suppose it depends on whether or not it's an update or re-release. This question is probably too early to be asked but it's something that will need addressing.

Also as a side note: I've noticed that it's taking a while for runs to get verified, if you need another mod to help out with verifying runs I don't mind doing it.

From what little I know, emulating a PS2 for speedrunning purposes is generally frowned upon since it's not particularly accurate. I could be wrong though.

Despite the poor wording I think I understand what you're saying, you're asking if a New Game category where no prior officer experience can be used, correct?

I don't think it's necessary and considering runs are already on the leaderboard, editing it to include this type of a run as a subcategory would require the current runs to be completely resubmitted.

There's no one running this game other than you and me, I think the current categories are fine on their own.

So that strat that I mentioned before? Could be something to consider, I haven't checked your runs yet so I'm not sure how you're saving 10 minutes but this is what I've been testing.

This works for anything that isn't A Gathering of Heroes as far as I know.

Instead of starting at Yong An with a custom character at max level, try starting out at Luo Yang, playing as Yuan Shao. Develop Luo Yang 3 times so you can get access to Red Hare, produce that type of Saddle for the rest of the game alongside Neutral Start.

Red Hare is the fastest horse in the game, it's a shame that we're pretty much forced to play as Yuan Shao as he's not great compared to a character using a maxed out Rapier, but you could try searching/hiring until you get that custom character, though I don't know how successful it would be.

Btw I've been a little inactive since the only time I can practice is when I'm at my parents' place as I don't own my own PS2 or Xbox360. So I've not been able to run the game in a few months

2 years late but this seems unecessary, if you can't jump you're going to remain the same walking speed 99% of the time so most runs would be roughly the same time anyway.

@SilentProtagonist - Running the game with language set to Simplified Chinese makes the text scroll faster due to the way Chinese characters work. Hope this answers the thread's question.

If you unlock most of the game, you can play as the opposing side on all the maps, for example you can play as the Yellow Turbans and the route is a lot shorter, is this allowed?

Is it even worth having Vs 2 and Vs 4? Should I update to just have Vs 1, 3 and 5?

If he wants the time on the leaderboard then he'll submit it, but I don't think he's going to.

The answer is probably 'no' but I want to make sure. For endings like Whiteboard and Broom Closet, is it allowed to also do another ending alongside them? For example say I do the Broom Closet ending, do I have to reset or can I continue onwards and do the Freedom Ending?

I think the leaderboard needs to be updated so that runs using older and newer versions of the game are separated since certain bugs have been patched out. If you're not active to do that then I'll happily do it if you add me as a moderator.

Don't know if it's been brought up before but how come Tetris 1989 hasn't got any categories? Since it's similar to the Game Boy version of Tetris how about 100 Lines, 100 Lines Lvl 0 and 300K Points categories for it?

Update: I've added some of the categories that I suggested. One thing that still needs deciding on is the when to start the timer for the Pirate runs, since you have to get past the welcome screen to enable Pirate Mode. I kept it as the same time ruling where it begins when the welcome screen appears but it's still up for debate as of right now.

The Game Dev Tycoon leaderboard only has 1 active moderator, but no Super Mod. I requested a while ago if it would be possible to become a mod on the game's forums and didn't get a reply from any moderator. I only learned later that Regular Mods cannot add new mods so I'm requesting if it would be possible for me to be a Super Mod for that leaderboard, also possibly remove the inactive ones since the game has like 5 moderators and 3 of them haven't been online in ages.
