Official tournament format will be TBD based off the number of runners that sign up, but here's an example of what it would be like for 20 participants

Round 1: 20 players -- bottom 4 times eliminated Round 2: 16 players -- bottom 4 times eliminated Round 3: 12 players -- bottom 3 times eliminated Round 4: 9 players -- bottom 3 times eliminated Round 5: 6 players -- bottom 2 times eliminated Round 6: 4 players -- bottom time eliminated Round 7: 3 players -- bottom time eliminated Round 8: 2 players -- fastest time wins!

Eight rounds is about what we'd shoot for with an average of 15 min per round (probably a bit longer for the earlier rounds, a bit shorter for the later rounds) ... we could also do a warm-up round where nobody gets eliminated.

That would put us at about 2 hours for the tourney's official start time.

We'll be using racetime.gg to keep timing and scoring for the rounds. If you need help setting that up, feel free to ask. It's super easy to use, especially with Live Split.

Hi all,

I'm trying to organize a Chip n Dale Any% Knockout One Night Only Tournament (KONOT).

For those unfamiliar with what it is...it's a series of elimination races that take place in one day, where (depending on the number of runners), we run a race, and eliminate the slowest time (or X number of times if we have a lot of runners). The remaining participants then race again and we repeat the process until we have a winner!

The last time we did one for CnD was nearly 5 years ago, so I think it's time to have one again (full VOD of that tournament below)

We'd like to try to announce the race and a date soon, hopefully announced during the Big 20 on March 1st!

Three options for dates are:

• Sat. May 17
• Sat. April 19
• Sat. April 26

(EDIT: Ideally we try to avoid April 26th ... would be a last resort to not conflict with another event)

(EDIT No. 2: May 17th is the planned date for this barring any major changes prior to the Big 20 on March 1st)

I went and frame counted the runs segment by segment ... apart from kelsey's mistake in boxing, it appears tom is able to gain all his time from selecting the hand ~0.1 to ~0.2 seconds faster each time, closer to the first frame possible whereas kelsey's is farther after the first possible frame.
