@Hako From a quick look, it seems every category pits the runner(s) against bots, not live opponents.

You'll have better luck asking on the games' respective forums.

Not everyone has money for a capture card.

You have to click on the boxes with your time and click the Delete key on your keyboard, there will be no prompt on screen.

@Pear Not necessarily if one uses a tool like SPRT, which still works.

For some games, the creators have also released their own .exe files as well, though I doubt this is too common.

@breaking_speed I'm not sure what your issue is, but these emails would only be sent if you were logged out and needed to log in again. Which device you use to access your email account is completely irrelevant., that's a separate service.

OBS is the program that captures video from your computer and sends it to Twitch. Twitch lets other people watch your video stream. Twitch recordings also aren't always the best quality; recording natively with OBS is always better if it can be done. Also, Twitch default settings don't automatically preserve streams forever, that has to be set.

Controller choice is generally left to runner preference when it isn't mentioned in the rules, so go with whatever feels the most comfortable to you. 4GB isn't a lot nowadays but you can always adjust your streaming settings in your program of choice. OBS Studio and Streamlabs OBS are both great streaming programs to use. There's alternatives so you don't need them to stream on Twitch, but other options are usually inferior in some way. LiveSplit is the ubiquitous timer if you're using Windows.

Yep, just right-click -> Edit Splits, go to the inaccurate time, select it, and click Delete.

United StatesQuivico4 years ago

@waterb0rn Make sure you're running LiveSplit as an administrator.

@meleewaluigi It's showing up normally for me. Sometimes you may have to refresh your browser cache (Ctrl+F5 on Windows).

There's a bug report thread: https://www.speedrun.com/the_site/thread/onfz6 , which it seems you've already noticed.

More info (especially screenshots) would help.

"allowance of video"? If you mean that whatever program you're using has a time limit because it's free, just stop using it and switch to OBS Studio, you won't regret it.

Having a full game run requirement works partially because by having it, it weeds out people who'll just leave in a month. If you're not dedicated enough to speedrunning to moderate (and trust me, you're often less dedicated than you think when you're young) then I would reconsider submitting a game.

It seems you didn't notice the Game Rules before asking your question.

If you'll go to the Cookie Clicker leaderboards and click on "View rules", you can see two buttons labeled "Game Rules" and "Category Rules". "Category Rules" is selected automatically, but runners need to read the information under both buttons. If you click "Game Rules", you will find your answer:
Autoclicking is NOT allowed, even if it's a function of your mouse.
That button really could use a better signifier...

Nice, but I have doubts a game from a random "XYZ games included!!!!!" device is going to meet the notability requirements, unless said game exists elsewhere.

Shoutouts also to Nitrome games, some of the highest quality flash games out there.

If you're all unaware, I would look into BlueMaxima's Flashpoint so you can play Flash games next year and beyond.

Welcome! If you're using this account to upload someone else's runs, that's...not really something you should be doing? At the least, it's easier to contact the moderators for the appropriate game(s); they can upload the runs for others and add the names of the actual runners.

For the record, I've heard that the paper against Dream uses some inaccurate methods, leading to an inflated value. I've heard (don't quote me) that updated odds are now around 1 in 10 million, which is still exceedingly unlikely, so...
