Also, the current WR is with a route that is about 10~ minutes slower (black belt route). So, I'd compare vs Otonyshi's run (Mural Route) for the sake of figuring out which route is faster.
I'd be happy to look it over myself if you have any kind of notes or anything for it if you'd like. Outside of just guessing based on overall run experience, you really don't have many ways to get a consistent idea since there's a lot of RNG and execution over a normal single segment run that can impact time.
My best advice would be to just get a rough estimate of how long it takes you to do certain fights or dungeons and compare it vs current leaderboard runs for each section. Get an idea for the over all time there and then compare the two. It definitely won't be perfect but it should give you an idea. Whatever you think is best for ya! Excited to hear!
You can run the version and submit it and I'm sure they'll add a category. It requiring a whole new route just has not as interested in running it.
I've been meaning to get to it but my speedrun routing list is just so long lmao
I'll look into it tomorrow.
I have just about every version of the PS2 except for the 30 series. Have both label copies of the game for English and Japanese.
Shoot I might have to get involved in something like this. Love it! Watching eagerly!
This is a method of duplication similar to the previous
(currently December 31, 2021, version v.58753)
No, time is wrong.
3:34:16 is the real time. They mislabeled.
Might be something to it, for sure! Try using the console command for enemy HP/turn order. That'll give you a way better idea for what the enemy turn order is.
"There are a couple of cheat codes in Septerra Core. To enable them, press F12 and type the following into the command window: IMAREALWEENIE then hit ENTER.
The following cheats are now enabled. You can type them in the same way as the enable code. Just hit F12, type the code, then hit ENTER.
ENEMIES - Shows enemies' HP."
Yeah, in a glitchless scenario it probably saves an hour over the current "Beat the Game" WR version
Yeah it does screw up some attacks every now and then but you get used to it as it highlights character portraits.
It was already QAY for me so i just made it QAZ. I'm sure you can toy with it to get it sorted a way that fits nicely. Maybe even with the number pad or something to have better use of two hands.
Also, I have Z assigned to my third character instead of flee, and flee is Y instead of third character. I did this in the septerra.ini in the game folder. Right click edit and you should be able to make sure everything is bound correctly / customize anything for your liking.
Not familiar with any of these issues. Are you on GOG or Steam version?
Sometimes, if character speed is really close, it has trouble auto selecting next up. Generally, though, it works fine. Take a look at this timestamp in one of my runs and tell me if it's functioning differently than yours.
This route should have the QoL Patch category under 7 hours, and the Beat the Game category under 8.
All credit to the OOB goes to AndyPerfect who discovered it.
I've spent the last two weeks discovering new glitches, skips, tech, and strategies with Andy's help.
Some fun things the run does now : Ultimate Weapons at Level 2. Skip all encounters. Two extremely difficult door skips that now have consistent setups. An efficient grind spot. Skip whole chapters and key item pickups. Skip the entire final dungeon, do the final boss with the wrong team.
The notes are still a WIP and I'll continue to revise them as time goes on.
Here is the google document with the route notes
Here are some videos I've recorded of the different skips and setups for tricks. Most are included in the notes at the corresponding sections as well.
"Everyone Has A Chance To Get A World Record Or A Good Time On Their Respected Console/Emu"
I think is actually the issue here. Perfectly proven point of the fact that accessibility is secondary to your desire to have a world record in a speedrun you haven't even done a run of lol
Get to the point where emu loads are the only thing keeping you from the top of the leaderboard and maybe it would be a legitimate concern
