Hey mate. Apologies as I never saw this forum post.

If you've done a run and are pretty confident which version of the game you've ran (it can be a little confusing), I'd be happy to add the game, add you as mod, so that you can finally submit your run.

Not 100% up to date on DS emulators. As long as it runs accurately, shouldn't be an issue. Be sure to put Emulator and version number in the details of your submission.

German shouldn't be an issue. This game (as far as I can personally ascertain) was only ever released in Europe.

This game and whole series are partially under construction as we continue working to straighten out the series and the information we able to find about them (currently, the information available online regarding these games is very sparse). It may be that sub categories will be created later to resolve issues pertaining to languages, so your run may be moved appropriately when and if that is determined necessary.

You should be good to submit your run for the time being.

I'm someone who likes data for data's sake, so I'm happy you are attempting what you are doing, even though my page (http://speedrank.xyz/player.php?name=nihilistcomedyhour) seems to be... a peculiar outcome giving the games I've run, etc.

"active player count" seems to be a weird thing to go by as well, given that many games probably fall under the top 400.. (Like Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, Super Mario Bros. 2, Sonic 2) but are heavily optimized. Example Sonic 2 has 77 rankings, but only 5 active players. This would mean nothing to anyone ranked, but Super Punch Out (26 rankings, 6 active players) would be.

I don't really know of ideal set up to actually get vaguely close to anything that would be considered "ranked overall speedrunners" given the way this site stores and breaks up categories, and naturally the is stuff like BrawlerJesse (http://speedrank.xyz/player.php?name=BrawlerJesse) being ranked 3 for being number one in a "full-cat" speedrun that is actually the first few races, and not the entire game versus being Rank 16 (http://speedrank.xyz/player.php?name=Torje) for having the fastest Ocarina of Time, an incredibly more popular game, but, I do find it very interesting none the less.

Going up to the discussion regarding the SMO board, I'd expect far more than 1% of the games on this site are going to have that exact issue, if not some other issue pertaining to categories and subcategories. You'd likely get a far more accurate semblance of ranking going by sub cat instead of an entire game, but I wouldn't claim to know what ultimately arbitrary set up would be more accurate, or how to even go about measuring that.

Also encountering bug adding games as a series moderator. Has been determined if this is site wide or limited to particular browsers? If it's site wide, should I request the game via the normal request method?

Had to create a subcat to add a run, but run with new subcat won't "show by default" for some reason. I'm sure it's something really dumb I'm missing.

Don't know why I didn't see this post earlier. But yea, that makes sense to me. I'll fix the category here soon.

Ah, that was it. Did not realize that was a possibility that milliseconds still existed in the database on runs, even if milliseconds had been removed.

I have tied runs showing up as 3rd and 4th, but can't seem to figure out the issue?

Sorry for the late reply. Been busy since I work tax season.

I'm just operating on the parameters I generally see for other games and how mods handle third-party console. As I said, I don't know any games that allow a third party console. I really have nothing on any particular third-party console, and how each given iteration operates in terms of accuracy, or how to account for the differences.

Makes sense to me. Also included all bonuses, since it seems appropriate.

There ain't a lot of action going on here, so another mod isn't really needed at the moment.

Per my earlier post, I stated I would be up to adding the time given the time adjustment. I never got a response regarding it. Generally, I’m less concerned about SGB then I am the use of a “Retro Trio Console”, since I have no information about the performance of said console. I know how an SGB runs. On boards that allow them, the time is adjusted, but I’m unaware of any board that allows third party consoles. I may be open to accepting it though with time adjusted with the understanding that the run could be removed in the future if it is determined that the console is an inaccurate emulation.

I’m more than happy to accept sgb runs, but the time will be adjusted (multiplied by 1.024 roughly). It’s a minuscule difference, but it is a tiny advantage over a normal gameboy. Adjusting super game boy runs this way is pretty much the situation for any game that accepts sgb runs, as the difference is well known and documented. Makes sense to me. The one issue I could of is this:

As far as the consoles I've played before, when changing the settings to something below the default settings; you can only complete 7 matches. The rounds end and the option to enter a score is given. On the ending of fights, the first text that appears after completing a match is "[Character] Conquers."

If you play the 7 matches on Green%/Default Settings, the game continues where you do a rush, and basically have to fight everyone again after a smaller round of eating people for strength. On the ending of this final fight, the first text that appears after completing a match is "[Character] Conquers." with "You Are Master of the New Urth" above it.

When you finish the level, there is no round icon that appears upon the final blow. So for Green%, it might be easier to time those runs using the "Master of New Urth" text. But as far as Any% is concerned, that marker works perfectly tbh.

What specifically does final blow entail? When the life meter of the opponent on the final round is completely gone?

Given the lag has to be dealt with, and in as such, excess lemmings killed asap, then yea, if there is a way to just direct a given number off the course as opposed to exploding them separately, that seems like it would be way to go. I guess you just got to know exactly which lemming to start digging with though, in this case.

thread: Lemmings

Ah, I think I understand. Like, you were saying that when lemmings are moving horizontally, the slow down is worse than when they lemmings are moving at an angle?

thread: SkiFree

As a side note, I think if you can get a rock in front of the start point in Tree Shalom. If you jump right before the rock, it does a pretty fast jump that is quicker than the normal strat, and it gives you just enough room to actually get all the flags. I usually try to go for it if it happens during my grind, but it's pretty rare the rock gets in the right position... easily 1/500 or so tries, and that's ignoring the fact you'd need perfect RNG for the rest of the god run, but it's worth keeping in mind if you come across it.

thread: Lemmings

We talking like... where the screen itself is positioned horizontally? Or where objects happen to be comparative to be in position? Or is it something to do with the number of pixels on the screen at a given moment?

thread: Lemmings

I'm not sure I understand. Why would walking on a bridge in the level as opposed to the ground in general cause less slowdown?
