That's been known, but for some reason has not been used in a run.
I feel like anyone should be able to join (at least with a time).
The 2nd one I've got nothing to say about. But for the warp zone in 4-2:
Unless playing with a keyboard, or a third-party controller, it's not possible to press 2 buttons on the D-Pad and make it work. Unless it's just up+down and left+right. Also, using more than one button on the D-Pad is forbidden. Unless that's just for up+down and left+right.
8-2: BBG saves 2 framerules. FPG only saves one. - To make it clearer, BBG saves 0.35 seconds over FPG.
4-2: That clip would lose time, since you can only leave the wall by jumping (on the right side). And you'd bump off of the 2 blocks after that first wall, costing time.
1-2: The pipe clip is faster, since you don't have to do extra jumps.
I don't plan on participating anyway, since I'm in another tourney, but here's something I don't feel right about:
Why do you need a time under 23 minutes in order to join? That banning people who have 23+ minute PBs. Which I think isn't fair in the long run.
The early hammer manipulation really isn't related to 8-1 FPG.
The screen position was changed. So the plant didn't despawn until after you collided with it,
Yes, but you'll have to ask somewhere else. We can't give you ROMs here since it's illegal. Same with discord.
I know no one has responded in a millenium, but I feel this category is necessary.
Name: Warpless 9-4
Rules: Beat every level starting from 1-1 to 9-4. Timing starts when the player can take control of Mario (or Luigi). And ends when the flagpole is grabbed in 9-4. The player can play on either the FDS version or the SNES version, it's their choice.
Video:
IIRC SNES (the console @Kosmic used) has the fastest framerate, so using the SNESClassic can hold a disadvantage for you. It's also a tough challenge due to the enlargened hitboxes and lack of despawned enemies. Not doubting you just giving you a few heads up before you play.
