Note: that list of accepted emulators for cv was based off of testing the first 10 seconds of the game, holding only right. The top three emulators I found to match console in frame count, the others were either faster or slower by 1 frame. I was using a Dazzle for console capture and honestly don't trust it too much, but it was only the first 10 seconds of the game, and the emulators known for accuracy held up against my NES.
Also, I am all for having site-wide rules. I've accepted a number of emulator runs that, despite not being sketchy, I was still annoyed that they would often crop their video to skip the title screen. That and the lack of seeing a system reset in a lot of PB vids means they could very well be loading a save state, which I imagine isn't just a big deal in castlevania alone.
The last thing I want to do is out right reject emulator runs, and I hope it doesn't come to that haha. Also if site-wide guidelines were put in place, I would hope that it doesn't affect emulator runs that are already posted.
Reminder you can always retime after a run. That, or if you submit a run, it's on the mods to make sure the time is accurate
SRC better start tracking flash games again, then.
Fill what void? Megaman? Halo? DKC? They already have their own dedicated leaderboards.
"...corner the market on speedrun leaderboards..." this has to be trolling at this point.
It's not lol. Arabic translates to "will be terminated" according too googleeee and he gives a date I'm assuming 4/18/18
super sp00ky dude
using mouse for DS speedruns this triggers my ptsd
It's not a clique dude lmao. That's sad if you feel "bullied".
Remember PBTracker? Various wiki leaderboards? Tracking runs in a spreadsheet? No? Good. Stop complaining.
In Antarctica? Yeah people do live there, some times.
but how am I supposed to meme without my Sealand FLAG DUDE?!
It's& a& typo& ,& we& go& back& to& this& shit& tomorrow&
You ask people not to pester you about writing an article for their run, but what else do you expect from people on SRC?
Also, covering "speedruns" of brand new games might get you more traffic but it's pretty lame when the game is far from being solved as far as a speedrun goes. That's some kotaku-tier shit. Kotaku right? I don't follow those sites for specifically that reason lol.
I often record my runs locally. When listening to music on stream I'll mute Amarec via windows. Amarec still captures the audio, and I can play whatever I want over top of it.
If you're running PC games or emulated games, not sure if there is a similar solution.
Worth noting that if you decide to play music over your game play, assuming you would do that, if you were to upload the vod to say, youtube, you potentially run the risk of your vod being blocked in a mod's country do to copyright shenanigans. Unlikely situation I think, but I've had to reject runs before due to their vods being inaccessible.
@MDS_xer0nreloaded the mod for that game was on within the last 4 hours. In your one forum post on that game you fail to mention that you want to become a moderator. Try asking that there, not here. Generally a moderator has 3 weeks to respond. So you'll have to be patient. Also, not sure what you mean by "outdated". Do you mean the speedruns listed just use old strats, or were just made awhile ago? If so that's no reason to label something outdated, but I think I'm just misunderstanding something.
The game I like the most, of course, Castlevania (NES)
Why? Boi you gotta frame perfect as FUCK to have a chance of getting top times like god DAMN
