Yeah I would take the time to find sellers with good pictures of the actual controller. I bought 5 nes pads recently and have pretty much frankenstein'd only two controllers out of the 7 I now own that are worth it.
The original NES pads only have a bad d-pad if you have a worn out controller.
I'd be more concerned with the Coming soon™ message system.
I'm going to end all my runs with "make sure to like comment and subscribe" from now on
It's some kid's homework, but if you wanna speedrun it be my guest :P
I would think the hit on one's reputation and credibility would be enough if you didn't pay out, but I guess that only applies to "more well known" speedrunners.
Yeah if a glitch/bug/skip etc can't be replicated it wouldn't count, obviously :p
I have two bounties up right now. It's not for beating a certain time, but rather utilizing glitches I've found to break and/or speed up the run.
Another bounty idea is for improving TAS runs. There are PLENTY of games that need an updated TAS, but requires the authors to sink dozens of hours or sometimes weeks to months worth of work into one TAS.
I personally wouldn't put up a bounty for a speedrun that I know can be cheated easily, which is why I would stick to the aforementioned examples.
Ultimately it's on the person putting up the bounty to decide if they want to risk drawing the cheaters out. Who knows might be a good way to bait cheaters :^)
I would love some standards for what emulators are used, for sure. Not so much a site-wide rule maybe, but just some guidelines.
I notice in SNES and N64 games people are pointed towards pretty much only one or two emulators. I get that probably has more to do with emulating those consoles compared to NES which seems to be more figured out, but I hate seeing an emu run pop up and I have to guess which emulator it is. It's made even worse when that is combined with dropped frames from twitch vods.
me: a thing that helps catalog runs against one another also me: i gots to know who got wr cuz muh wr culture
