Pac could you've stood in a Japanese-ier place while also looking any Irish-ier?

Oh hey sweet, thanks! I knew and use the horse jumping one, but I didn't realise you could do it on foot too. Also interesting that you can do it with Revolver, that can be useful in a few missions.

EDIT: Upon further testing, it seems that this super simple method actually works with EVERY gun! My previous on foot rolling method never worked with anything other than Repeaters. I need to think about using this glitch everywhere now

The only other marker I can think of that may work is the Doberman marker, whereby we normally get on the NRG after triggering it. I don't know if there are any phonecalls that do that in LS though

Yeah I tweeted about it and everyone seemed to think the server is fine really, it just needs more players coz it's normally dead. I think promotion could help a lot.

As for other game modes, not really easy to implement along with the current ones, and maps? Use the /report feature ingame to submit a map :P

For those out of the loop, the MTA server has been down for awhile due to issues at the hosting company's server cluster. To put it simply, they lost everything. I haven't done a backup of the server since early 2014 and I'm not sure if anyone else with access to the files has done one since.

Regardless, use of the server was pretty low anyway, so I'm taking this opportunity to reboot it.

I have some ideas with what to do with it, like "rebranding it" as the "#GTA" server not the "Joshimuz" server, and maybe changing/having more game modes and such, but really I'm just wondering what other people thought we should do with it.

Alright so today I remembered that I made a super quick and dirty save file manager at the beginning of last year, however I never finished it because I never got around to making a save file for every mission in the game, however since RunnerHAWORTH was awesome enough to provide us with them I decided to go back and finish it.

The code, to put it simply, is shit. However, the task at hand is pretty simple (just moving files around) so I didn't bother remaking it and just put all of the save files into the correct place.

Anyway, you guys might find it useful, all it does is remove the need to move around save files manually and keeps everything organized. It's not tested at all and probably will crash when you guys try it, but we'll see.

Here it is

I only just got the Any% save files working, and apparently the backup thing already works, hopefully it's self explanatory but basically you pick which save file you want to replace with the dialog at the very top, and just choose what save file to set in the Any% tab. The backup stuff just copies your current 8 save files and puts them into another folder.

Yeah this has been proposed a few times in the past and I feel that history is going to repeat itself. Never the less I am taking part in the finally organized Crashlympics relay race and I think we should try and take their model instead of the traditional relay race and try to make this actually happen one day.

Basically, instead of a massive, 24+ hour race, they split the races into individual ones and each team scores points based on their position in each race. The team with the highest score once all the races are done wins.

This way, no one gets screwed over due to timezones/start times, and people can do multiple races per team if needed without staying up for days.

Will we have patreons?

Also, http://imgur.com/1SUQ2S8

Regardless, I probably wouldn't do that, too many issues with long streams atm, but it sounds like a really great/crazy idea

Nice quadruple post, and yeah as I say in the video I fuck up the boat a bit

I timed it to be about 5-10 seconds faster than Omega's gold split with worse playing by me

I've added a link to the saves section, however it wouldn't let me upload the actual file. I get the error "That is the wrong file type (application/octet-stream). It must be a .zip or a .rar."

It is 100% a .zip file, I thought it might have something to do with the "%" in the name so I took that out and no luck. Re-zipped files and then tried .rar with no luck.

I just made it a link to the dropbox for now, but just thought I'd let you know about tech issues. If you don't want them on the site RunnerHAWORTH I can remove them but I assume you do since you're actively sharing here :P

Also, thanks for the saves!

Personally I prefer a plain stream layout. No silly massive overlays with bright colours or moving text/images, the less eye catching detail the better. HOWEVER that doesn't mean it has to be boring, lacking creativity or just look bad. An example would be my GTA:SA layout:

http://i.imgur.com/PXMKhdC.jpg

Here you can see it's basically 90% the game, with some splits and a webcam. But there are a few small details. For example there is no black/blank space, there is a background image behind the splits (which I have turned very dark so the colours are muted and don't distract the eye) and there is a small faded black spacer bar between splits and the camera (which in this picture is accidently layered above the splits... opps)

Everything fits, and there is no wasted space. Everything is sized to fit around the game, which is the most important part. I'm not an artist and this is obviously not the best layout in the world, but I just wanted to say GENERALLY, less is more.

"The problem with San Andreas any% is that the game is too long..." Then... don't run San Andreas competitively? It's not like there aren't other GTA games to choose from which aren't short enough, I get you may like this game and not the others but that's what makes San Andreas a different speedrun.

It's like, wanting to run SA 100% but not wanting to do all of it because it's too long so you do 20%. The route is different, the run is different, the challenge is different. Same with Los Santos%, it may be minor differences but they are still differences. It's not even as if the game supports IL speedruns (you can start every mission with a different set of weapons/stats/remaining HP/vehicles etc etc) so shorter runs can't be waaaaaay more optimised (The reason for ILs would be to have a perfect level in say, Nitronic Rush, for the best time possible). In this instance all Los Santos% runs would be inherently faster than Any% Los Santos because of the different route (while MINOR differences right now, who knows what it may be in future routes, and these differences right now are still too much) and not because it can be more optimised

Please don't misunderstand me though, I would never want to disencourage anyone to learn the game (completely the opposite), however I feel that just wanting to do Los Santos% not for fun, or for races, but because you want to compete on a leaderboard, is the wrong reason to run Los Santos%. Part of the challenge of GTA:SA is the length, not wanting to run the game because it's too long removes part of the speedrun.

The point of Los Santos% was and always has been to be a race goal, organising a 5+ hour race is always a hassle so sometimes we'd just do that. Hell we've even done Badlands/San Fierro/Whatever% before as a race goal. The rules don't make any sense, people probably had advantages due to weapons/stats/whatever on their saves, but it was just a race, for fun. Making something like that a leaderboard goal is not the point of the category.

To add to what Adam said, you can capture HD output from PS2 using Component http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Component_video which the PEXHDCAP can take as an input. As for SNES stuff I'm not too familiar with that.

The objective is to split the train, kill all the guards and then drive the train. You can't drive the train until everyone is dead

Hampshire, EnglandJoshimuz10 years ago

This was one of the first things I tried. The second thing was not using the throwing knifes at all. I also don't own a PS3 so running on that would be kind of difficult
