Sorry for adding yet another complaint about it to the forums, but seriously, such a basic functionality can't be left broken so long.
We have done stuff like that for level leaderboards with diamonds and emeralds, which is why "Obtain Diamond/Emerald" and "Mine Diamond/Emerald" are separate. When the former became just "who can spawn next to a chest" then we created the latter, which did not allow the use of structures, but, this being speedrunning, it also got broken. Categories like golden apple, Cake, and Enter Nether may also benefit from such kind of category, but I am not sure how many people would actually run it, so that it is worth it to make them.
We have known of that leaderboard for a long time, and us mods are in constant contact with japanese runners. We have added runs from them, and some of them have submitted runs to us themselves. However, a lot of their runs do not have video proof we can easily access, as their videos have been either removed due to time or are only viewable with a premium account for their site, which no moderator has. We still keep up with them, but there aren't many runs in their site that are compliant with our rules and video requirements.
We actually believe that 1.6 or even older may be better for glitchless precisely because of the hunger mechanics.

Apologies for late response. I had been avoiding the site until the layout bugs were fixed becasue it was nigh impossible to do anything.
Why do you think that PE should be separate from this leaderboard? To my knowledge, it's not possible to beat PE, so it can only be used for individual levels in which there isn't a considerable difference from console edition or even PC.
We are painfully aware of it.
Alas, there is not much we can do about it other than what pretty much everyone else who uses this site is doing: complain to the admins in hopes it gets fixed.
I know this has been said already in this thread, perhaps multiple times but it hasn't been fixed yet son I'll say it again.
All the games are sorted by real time even when in game time is selected as the ranking option. Furthermore, there isn't even an option on the leaderboard itself to switch comparisons, as it used to be in the old layout.
I agree with everyone else, I want the old layout back.
The leaderboard at http://www.speedrun.com/mc already supports runs in the console versions, given that they are not different enough in objectives, I believe they should be treated as a single game. we even have some console runs on the side objectives.
I'd like to have the times of this leaderboard that meet the rules of the main one be submitted there and have this one be deleted, since it clutters the minecraft series page and may cause confusion in the future.
I would appreciate if the moderators here would agree and comply either by doing the submissions and taking down this leaderboard, or by giving me super moderator status so I can do it myself.

Alright, so I acually took the time to read all the forums after Deln hit me up on twitter about the issue (btw if you need me for anythin that's where you find me). Sorry about the lateness, but I don't check all the minecraft custom map/server forum sections routinely because there are literally more than I even know exist with more being added constantly.
That said, I do not actively moderate (most of) these sections, again due to the big amount of runs, and most of them have at least one active mod that does pay attention (usually the one that requested the 'hack' to be added). Illumina has been busy and quite unactive in the site and Shadow doesn't really know the game, he just cleans up the notifications.
Now, having read all the threads, I've decided the best pick available to moderate this section is rubixcubix534. Who will be given privileges shortly after this message is posted.
We decided to accept runs as long as structures are not fully visible during the run, since the terrain generation is not affected where a structure would not spawn anyways.
It is precisely because every category in the level leaderboard became this that we do not want more like it. We've learned from the mistakes.
Got the cBenni timer links updated to new ones. Try those again. This time they were tested to work before linking them. If it does not work, we don't have more solutions.
The category has been officially added. It will be under misc. for now, since it has only one run. If it takes off it may come out of misc. eventually.

Sorry to tell you all this, but this is a bad category. Random seed it is literally resetting for a village or temple to even be able to complete it in a relatively reasonable and safe amount of time, since emerald ores are incredibly rare. Set seed is just jump into a temple, grab everything, mine a bit and it's done.
This would not even be a good category for races, which was the reason All Swords (which just about as simple) got in. When suggesting categories, please stay away from ones that would be village/temple resets in random seed and away from ones that would not be reasonable to complete in any random seed without resetting (for races).
About this, I would consider setting it up similar to how I was told the Japanese runners have it. Multiple RSG co-op categories, for example: 2-5 players 6-10 players 11-20 players more than 20 players
We'd have to discuss how many would it be good and where to draw the line for the next category in each case. Once we sort that out we would set the boards up.

minecrafttimer2.exe should run with no problem, and I don't know about the speedrun mod, I'd suggest you contacted the person who developed if you tried to install it in 1.8.3 and it didn't work. I think it's only for 1.8 though.
