Hey Gecalsth, that's not a stupid question at all, that's actually a very good point, I'm pretty sure I misread how that info for the time was being said, it makes sense that 76ms would mean 0.076ms, it's just not showing the 0 in the middle there, but if there is indeed a 0 on the end of the time we know for sure that it's that time, like you pointed out above. So that's how the time worked for the previous version of TDT so I guess I was just going off of that, but my apologies I fix that and look at any other runs that may be timed incorrectly though I think you found the only examples of this happening so good eye, and thanks for asking!

After a long wait it's finally here. Thank you all for your patience.

I've been using a working version for a while now as people may have noticed, this version of the tool SwankyKoala helped me get working, but I do owe credit to Smellyalater and Bigpumkin for making the first tool. I've been trying to get it looking better for a while now and I finally made small changes to the end screen ui to make all the information fit properly, and I've been trying to figure out how to add the "speedrun.com legal" bit that was on the previous version of TeardownTools but I haven't figured out how to yet, so instead of waiting until then I just decided to make it official as it is right now. I also had to make sure it worked and downloaded properly as well before making the patch live for everybody. I'll still look into how to add that other bit but it isn't really necessary at the moment. But it's finally here, thanks again for all your patience regarding this matter, and happy speedrunning!

The audio does sound weird but I can tell that the sounds made are accurate with what was happening in the game so I can verify this run, I just hope that this audio problem was a random fluke. I've had audio issues before so that's what I'm thinking may have happened, next time you're recording it should hopefully be gone.

You're not prying by asking this, I'm not very tech-savvy when it comes to coding so I'm still looking into it but I may have somebody lend a hand with making it work again, Bigpumkin and Smellyalater were the ones who made to mod in the first place, Smelly is gone on hiatus with irl stuff with an undetermined return time and Bigpumkin is no longer a part of the speedrun community for this game, I've tried to reach out to them with no response as of yet.

If you'd like to speedrun Teardown with the benefit of TeardownTools then you are more than welcome to use v.1.4 of the game, this can be selected and used by going to the Teardown steam page, right clicking on Teardown on the left side where your library is, go to properties, then go to the tab "Betas" and you can select v.1.4 there, TeardownTools still works with this version of the game and to my knowledge there aren't any big changes with these two versions, the only difference I know of if the change to the UI of the game but other than that there doesn't seem to be any differences.

I'm trying to get TeardownTools working soon but without the knowhow it's been difficult, so bare with us and we'll try to get it operational as soon as possible!

You did perform that old run, the 3:43 but you never submitted that run, I confirmed that we didn't delete it somehow, I looked through all of the rejected runs, I'm pretty sure it just didn't end up being submitted, either way you got a big new PB with this run so all is well, and GGs on this run, never thought to use the boosters on this level, that's pretty clever, I look forward to trying to attempt this for myself eventually!

Using Version 1.4 is acceptable as yes there are no major differences, we're currently looking into a fix for TeardownTools since after the most recent update to the game it made it not compatible anymore, we found a small fix that can fix the time shown on the end screen but we're looking into it more before making it live for download, once we find out exactly how we want it we'll update the link for TeardownTools as soon as possible but we are aware of TeardownTools not working properly and we'll have it fixed soon enough!

Oh this response is very late but to confirm this is indeed the Steam Version, the telltale sign is the timer, the timer for the two versions is different, they have different fonts and then also the Steam Version's timer is pink and the Itch.io Version is green

That could be interesting but us moderators thought about it after the boosters were added into the game and we decided to ban the use of them on the main leaderboard since the boosters are very inconsistent and all of the work that was put into the category at that point was immediately for nothing. I'm not sure if we'd add new categories for the Race Track%, it could be food for thought but I'm almost certain we won't see them implemented anytime soon but I suppose one could still hope!

This was a good run for the vehicle of your choice but I would love to see you get a run with one of the faster cars on the map you know, but alas, all is well but I'd still like to see you get in a quicker time, wink wink nudge nudge, no pressure :)

I'm pretty sure the best way to keep the speed up is to just take tight turns but not too tight, sometimes a wider turn is better than just taking a 90 degree turn, give or take, hopefully that can help out some for you! And yeah it can be a little hard to control especially since you can stack the effect of the energy drinks, I think it can only go up to times 3 I believe.

After my last message I wanted to try to get my time down, up to 329 attempts total now, managed to get a 11.067sec!! Big improvement overall but that's going to be difficult to get it more smooth, I didn't put as much time into this level as you, 3000 plus attempts is some serious dedication!! Well done again!

That's a great time, congrats on the hard work!! I just checked, my PB on plumbing is 13.199sec, but that's only with about 200 tries though, and wow yeah your time is almost top ten, great job again!

Well yes we can see where our time puts us on the ingame leaderboard but the whole point of this website is to submit speedruns, we were discussing how it's be cool if there were leaderboards on this website for individual levels

I like the idea for individual level leaderboards but there's a lot of them in this game, it would make the leaderboard look too cluttered, if there was a why to consolidate the floors then perhaps it can be done but I'm not expecting that to happen, though it would be cool.

Only way I see it being done is by making some new categories named Floor 1 Individual Levels, Floor 2 Individual Levels, etc. , then having sub categories for each level within, it sounds possible but it means getting it done.

Hey guys, I'm unsure where to find this information for submitting runs, I know it's pretty early on still but I noticed that the leaderboards aren't locked anymore and was ready to start doing some runs even if we don't have the full game yet, thank you guys in advance and I look forward to getting this ball rolling!

Washington, USADylenoyer941 year ago

I was actually curious about that, I was playing this game pretty avidly about a year ago but never thought I could submit since I was playing on switch and I was just using the capture function on the switch and in some levels either the beginning was cut off or I didn't include the leaderboards so I had prove of the full run, I do have capture software now so that wouldn't be a problem anymore but it's very nice to know!

Washington, USADylenoyer941 year ago

Excellent, glad that one was working for you, it's served me well!

Hey Team, I noticed that our rules that are for hammer only says that it's just a glitchless category but it doesn't state what is defined as a glitch, I know that people who have experience with the game should be aware of what they are but newer runners may not, I'm unable to make any adjustments to the rules myself but I think we should just add a bit of text stating what is considered a glitch, in the rules for fullgame runs it does say "no glitches such as prop boosting" but that's it, I know we have a guide saying what is considered a glitch but I think we could add what's considered a glitch to the rules of the glitchless categories just for clarity, this has only really crossed my mind recently, let me know if you think it's a good idea!

I use OBS for games that require splits and I use the video capture software on my computer for most runs, it's just called NVIDIA and it has a capture function that works well, yeah I just use my NVIDIA capture mostly and OBS when I need to, and yeah I'm in the same boat as Patatoes, I only really know how to use those two personally.

Washington, USADylenoyer941 year ago

I like the way that idea works for the category, I've been trying to think on how to make it work as well with no luck, though this way you're talking about is just a workaround for the idea, a clever workaround I'd like to add, I would like to have the leaderboards easy to read for all levels of runners and this would be slightly confusing to some I'd assume but I'm on board for this category idea either way, you've already thought about what I was going to bring up about how to incorporate it with as few hiccups as possible and this method would do just that, I think it's safe to say if you wanted to add this category it would be happily accepted into the mix and if there's any issues with it we can always take it down if it doesn't work as planned. To illiterate I believe this is a fantastic idea and the things that I'd be worried about shouldn't be an issue so I'm all for it!!
