I've been having issues with my wall jump inputs getting eaten while using an emulator. It's been consistently happening on the first wall jump in 5-2 as well as climbing up the ladder on the same screen. More frustratingly, it also happens regularly during the Jaquio fight. Earlier today I was stuck on a wall in 4-3 for several seconds while holding both jump and the dpad and Ryu just sat there. There are other times where there's just a delay before he jumps off of a ladder or wall, but because it's happening at the same points on the 5-2 screen it makes me think there's something outside of the controller.
I'm using a Buffalo classic usb gamepad. It's plugged directly into my MOBO. I've tested this on FCEUX as well as Nestopia.
Is my ROM bad? Is there something else that I should be concerned about? What are the top runners playing on an emulator using?
Are there other emulators besides the snes9x and BSNES that are accepted among the community? I find that the load times, particularly during the 52 death part of Any% are slower than they are on console. I'm losing about a second per death when I compare it to couch23's run. Is there anything I can do about this, or is this just how it goes with an emulator?
I've watched the video. I've tried to replicate the run on a Japanese version of the game. Unless there's something very specific about the Japanese version on the Wii that allows the overflow glitch to happen with only one party member, it cannot be done. If that is the case, it should have it's own separate category. In every other version of the game, you require a full team to trigger the glitch.
My conclusion is that the video was made through editing to make it look like the glitch occurs, when they've really just clipped in another video at the end of their run and placed a timer in the corner.
Prove me wrong.
