Eh, lets not use the freebie. The point is get everything from the Survival Branch. Feel free to use the vanilla brown wool, it still comes from the Survival Branch, thus its ok.
There is currently no known ay to preserve anything out of the lobby, so that doesn't help.
Eh, I'm a bit hesitant to add this many extraneous categories, so likely not.
Mods for small games like these usually aren't as involved in the moderating as those for big games like Odyssey etc. They just haven't been online or had enough time to verify.
We would follow the vanilla minecraft multiplayer rules. The person hosting the world should provide video proof. The other person(s) can provide video evidence if they wish, but it technically isn't required.
Well as far as I know, there aren't really any restrictions on additional players. Obviously this will be a separate category. The category will be added when the first run is submitted (just submit to any%, I'll change it myself). New categories are fun, but without runners, they are kind of pointless. This approach is one many other games use.
Command blocks obviously count as an exploit, the rules have been updated to reflect that.
Please refer to the new sticky post. As explained, I have recanted the previous debate and rank pulling that I did a year ago, and as such. The method you are describing would work for preverve catagories, although the usefulness of it is in question, now that placing items such as levers/buttons on the outside of the bedrock box is allowed.
I figured we should have a thread saying what the rules of Diversity 1 are and how they apply to us runners.
- No breaking or placing items unless instructed or implied.
- No changing difficulty or gamemode.
- No typing game commands.
- Single Player: Select Easy now and avoid Options Screen (see DOWNLOAD FOLDER for details).
What these mean:
- This is the most restrictive rule, it means that we can't break any blocks unless we are in the survival branch and place any blocks unless we are told to by the map. We can't break blocks in the lobby, alter redstone, escape out of bounds by pillaring, etc.
- We can't change our gamemode or difficulty essentially via any means. No command blocks, no commands, no options screen, nothing. Only the map can do it for us.
- We can not type any commands, simply as that.
- This rule doesn't really apply.
Additionally, in the Survival branch is this rule:
- You may not place or break blocks within this bedrock chamber.
Placing blocks on the outside of the bedrock chamber is perfectly fine, and that does mean you can activate certain command blocks to preserve wool etc.
So, a while ago, there was quite a lot of Debate about certain rules. At the time, I dictated the rules were one way and one way only, and this was not proper modding.
I wish to apologize, at the time, I was a new mod, I was thrust into this mod position without even asking or being told about it, I just opened up speedrun.com one day to find im suddenly a mod for this catagory, and to this date, I still don't know why or how or when. Because of this, I was unprepared and inexperienced at handling this situations.
A while has passed, and I also had the chance to talk to CrafterDark for a little, and I'd also realized something. Rules are decided by the community as a whole, not the mods alone.
Because of this, the old debate about preserving items is moot as of this point. The rules specifically state that placing items inside the bedrock chamber is forbidden, and when you start up the Survival Branch, you are told you are in pure survival mode. Because of this, I hereby decree that altering the command blocks by placing blocks/levers/whatever on the outside of the bedrock chamber, is in fact NOT in violation of the rules.
Last time this came up, I was being extremely dogmatic about it, and now I think it's time to fix that. Of course, all other rules still apply, but from now on, I'll try to be a better mod lest this game die.
Why is this a thing. This is literally the biggest meme I have ever seen. Also our Inbounds run isn't up...? Also I like how literally all of the mods of this aren't even minecraft runners. That's pretty good.
Hello!
Just a quick thread to inform everyone that the leaderboards have been changed from RTA time to IGT time. This is because of any%. The current any% route involves a S+Q to clip through the wall. This, of course, could prevent a WR time simply because of the loading times of minecraft if we used RTA time. This change should not affect anything now or in the future.
How to dupe successfully: Throw items onto ground, s+q, relog, collect items, Alt+F4 (Should instantly close minecraft after one press), reload minecraft (easiest if the launcher is set to automatically pop up), enter world, and boom, duped items.]
Now, duping isn't as simple, it's a fickle process. The timing of the Alt+F4 is precise. Too early, and the items won't be duped, and instead you'll appear just before the dupe, with the items on the ground, and not in your inventory. Too late, and you'll appear where the items were and they'll be in your inventory, but they won't be duped.
The reason this happens is because of various types of lag. Duping in the Nether or End has a lower chance of working due to a smaller time window (Additionally in certain versions duping in the end can clone the Ender Dragon or render collecting a certain Advancement in 1.12 unobtainable). Duping isn't an exact science, you just have to get a feel for it.
Also, sounds like you're pressing Esc before doing the Alt+F4? Don't do that, pressing Esc saves certain parts of the world I think, and also can change the timing and affect lag etc.
April is correct on this I believe. Any time not playing is supposed to be used in the pause menu to load the map etc, change options.
Hmm, I wonder if we could make a meme categor, Berry%, or something, where you basically just plant a ton of crops on your farm and duplicate power berries until your each 999 or so ranch score with just berries XD
We aren't here to pick on fine details. The matter is closed.
"You may only choose one", specifically states we can't take multiple. We can not just ignore those words simply because of the possibly context change. In those statements, it's a separate sentence, and therefore thought, from the next one stating that the door closes behind you. You may only take 1 freebie.
I guess. I don't really know how you prepare anything, but I don't see why it wouldn't be allowed.
