Hello all! Currently the only listed map on the leaderboard is Cizzors Deathrun 2.0. It seemed as though this was a pretty solid choice to add with tons of players and times on YouTube. Hello all, The staff have come to the conclusion that when submitting a request for a game to be added to the site or requesting to be added as a moderator for an existing game (see here) that we will start looking at your profile to see if you have a social media linked with your account.
This will be effective immediately
The reason(s) for the addition of this rule for the moderation request and game requests are the following.
- Request to be moderator for X game, then verify a run and go inactive
- Request a game and do nothing with the leaderboard for 2 weeks and it requires deletion and re-approval
Hello all, I just wanted to address something that is rather important on the speedrun.com site. As of right now, there is a pretty big percentage of site users who don't have social media's connected to their account. I wanted to bring this concern to the site's forum just so that way it has the ability to reach users across the site.
As a general user just viewing, following a game, etc, connecting a social media is rather unimportant. However if you wish to, or already actively contribute to the site and it's content, i.e verifying runs, posting on forums, submitting runs and similar. It is pretty important to list your social media's on your profile. The main reason for this, is simply for contact. As site Staff try to assist with users requests, I personally find it difficult to get in contact with them for any questions or similar I might have. This particular topic is vitally important for those users who wish to or already assist the site with leaderboard moderation, series moderating, marathon organizers, etc. If you have a Twitter, Discord or something where we as a community can get in contact with you, please connect your social media to your speedrun.com profile. It makes everything run smoother and it's a very easy process. The use of YouTube / Twitch as the main form of contact isn't necessarily reliable. Connecting these account is perfectly fine and definitely useful, but as a main form of communication, not so much.
If you have the opportunity to update the information on your profile for outdated media's, please update these bits of information as this is still how we will attempt to get in contact with you.

I want to tackle something that our society has established in our lives. Negativity. You may want to throw this out and mark it off instantly as "nonsense" or not "worth my time". What you just said to yourself is exactly why you should read this. Let me reassure you, it is worth every bit of time you let it be.
Society has developed the perfect way to incorporate negativity into everyone's lives, whether it be your self-consciousness, the way you dress, the way you do your makeup, how you look at others. We as a society judge every single day, even if it's not intentional or "harmful". We are constantly comparing ourselves to those around us, those we look up to or try and bring down to make ourselves feel more important or more relevant than someone else. Humans are not born with self-consciousness, we are taught. At a young age, your parents, your teachers might make you feel like you will never be successful or that you will not matter in life if you do not do as well as little Timmy that sits 3 desks behind you in the first grade. This basic comparison can root self doubt in a person, a person that has a very malleable young mind and is looking to the generator of this knowledge, in order to know what is right and what is wrong.
This negativity, this self doubt that they now know, is what they understand to be. Parents, compare one child to another in order to spark "self-interest" in their child. You are teaching them now to compare themselves to everyone, to you, where you are in life, how did you get to be where you are. They now compare themselves to everyone, which becomes this standard that everyone lives by.
As a society I believe comparing yourself to another person period needs to come to an end. Achieve a positive relationship with yourself, better yourself.
The aptness in our society proves where we are. Face the world not as a negative being but as a positive beacon for others. Bring the hate and insecurities in this world to it's knees. Make every single day you walk this place as positive as humanly possible. No more tearing others' down. I say onto you, world. Let us not speak of change, let us make the change and create a better place for all of us.
If you are reading this, today, tomorrow, next year. Envision a better place not just for you or for your family, for all.
Go out of your way, today, after reading this and spend one single minute of your day today and spread this positive message with someone, anyone.
Now stop envisioning.

Hello! I would like to firstly introduce myself, I am Bokoblins A.K.A Vixy. I am one of the main site staff for ZSR and I'm "new"(early 2016) in terms of admins and working on the site, so I was a bit baffled at the "issues" ZSR faced with the 2D Zelda Communities, however it is a major priority of mine to focus on getting everyone back on solid ground and making ZSR excellent for every community together. I would also like to mention that this being said, I would like to add however many mods/editors that want to contribute to put information on ZSR. This includes Zelda II, Zelda I and any other Zelda game that people wish to help out on. It was also my understanding that people in the past had felt uncomfortable to ask for those rights or privileges for the site. I want to address this head on and say that, if you, or know anyone who would like to contribute to the site then feel free to ask in the ZSR discord server. Now that that is out of the way however, I hope you guys would be willing to help us make ZSR a better place for everyone.
