Hello everyone,
We recently conducted a community-wide vote to decide on potential changes to our administration system, aiming to balance admin efficiency with meaningful community involvement. Here's a simplified summary of the results and how these changes will work going forward:
The community voted for the Representative System with Community Input (Option 1).
- Admin Decision-Making:
- Admins handle minor and most major decisions with a 75% majority vote.
- For major decisions, the community will be informed, and feedback will be gathered.
- Community Votes:
- If admins are deadlocked or believe a vote is necessary, a community vote will be triggered.
- Admins can approve community-voted decisions with a simple majority (lower than the usual 75% threshold).
The community voted for Option 2: Supermajority Vote of No Confidence.
- Triggering a Vote:
- Any community member can propose a "Vote of No Confidence" via a designated bot command.
- 10 reactions are required within 3 days to initiate the process.
- Voting and Results:
- The vote lasts for 3 days.
- To dismiss the admin team, the vote must pass with a two-thirds majority.
- If passed, reelections are triggered for a new admin team.
The community decided to maintain the current system (Option A: Rely on Existing Tools).
- Community proposals will be reviewed by the admin team. If rejected:
- The proposal can be revisited through existing mechanisms, like the Vote of No Confidence or regular elections.
- No new systems, like forced binding votes, will be added.

Hello everyone, we are currently voting for a new Admin Team Election System over at the Factorio Speedrunning Discord! Make sure to get your vote in: https://discord.com/channels/260103071017730048/285528445109272578/1238849335345680434
You can vote if you have submitted at least one speedrun in the past. If you can't access the channel, please head over to https://discord.gg/zUgbdnYZ and ask one of the moderators for the role.
Dexametason has been banned from the Factorio Speedrunning leader boards indefinitely due to cheating (usage of mouse macros). Any cheated submissions have been removed from the leader boards on speedrun.com .
Discussing the matter is fine, but please mind that we show zero tolerance regarding harassment towards any involved party regardless of platform.
On The Factorio Leaderboard we use a version variable for each submission. Unfortunately, we can only add new values to the bottom of the list, while we want the newest version on top. This means that every time a new version releases, we have to press the "move up" button about 100 times which is fairly annoying, as you have to wait for one second after each press for it to update.
I'd request the possibility to move new values to the top more easily ("move to top" button/ "add on top" button/ drag values to move them faster)

A new rule has been voted on by the community and comes into effect immediately. This is to allow for running on a working version, if the current release is broken and a hot-fix is on the way.

Hey,
So I am from the Factorio Speedrunning Community. We are currently having a discussion about our ruleset and are looking for pro's and con's of allowing older patches in submissions.
Currently we ban older versions, just as you do. It be very helpful for us to see your though process and history of how you got to this rule and why you enforce it.
I'd appreciate if you could explain that in the level of my Celeste knowledge. I am person that did play Celeste a lot and did watch some speedruns and know the tricks and names of them, but I was not into Celeste speedrunning myself and I don't know about it's speedrunning history.
Thank you for you help! Best's and love from the Factorio Community

Unfortunately there is a limitation where one can only enter release dates that are in the past. This seems natural at first, but for the game Factorio that I moderate, it has been in early access for a long time and the release date is now known to be the 14.08.2020. So I'd like to enter that.
Im am sure there are other game in EA that would appreciate that possibility as well
