Hey, not everything seems to be organised too well here, at the moment. (this is just an observation, not an accusation! :P) Perhaps it'd help if one or more new mods were added, and/or the current mods would join the Discord community. :) https://re-volt.io/discord

"What game are you talking about?", I thought. But judging from the responses, I guess you are talking about games that have been released on both pc and consoles within the last decade or so?

@lolman--0027 Finally someone who words this for me! :P I feel exactly like this, but I usually can't explain it so people understand it. :P It goes so far that if I buy a game for console, I'll play it for some time (some days to some weeks, in rare cases a month or more) after I get it, and then probably pick it up again later. In any case, I'll eventually beat most games (although not always 100%). If I buy a game for pc, I'll play it once after I get it. That's usually it. I've got about 5 games on Steam... and I'd rather not buy any more. I've played all of them very little. The only one I played for around a week is Grow Home... but even that I never got back to after first dropping it, and never finished.

To me, the background of this theme is way too crazy. It's quite distracting, and also becomes tiring, when being at the page for around a minute. Could it be changed? :P

I don't think it would be great for pickups to be a separate category, as that way, the main All cups leaderboard will only have two runs in at present. Thanks for adding the difficulty variable, though. :) Edit: Four, actually. Still, I think it'd be nice to keep the old ones in. What I hadn't yet realised is that the variables might cause clutter. Especially now that nobody has got a run using anything other than Arcade, I suppose it might look a bit weird. But honestly, there's only one run that's got a console that isn't PC, too. :P As soon as I have time and am at my desktop (my laptop isn't powerful enough for playing and recording at the same time, it seems), I'll attempt a run, on Simulation, because that's more fun to me. :)

Can you add a game without verification, that way? If so: interesting, that might be useful.

Ah,okay, fine then. It just made me a bit uncomfortable when I found out. But I guess I don't *need *to check, just because I can.

I wouldn't know. Perhaps verify what memory card you both are using, and if you're using the original GameCube or that inside the Wii.

You can see how much someone donated by hovering over their icon. Has this always been the case and did I just not notice it before, or is it new?

Uh, yeah. Not sure why that got accepted. Don't you need to include a run in your request? He can't have done that.

In my opinion, if it takes up to a week to get a run verified, the board needs more (or other) mods.

Interesting topic! 2 of the 3 games I have run are games that didn't have any runs before mine. I did think it was a lot of fun to figure out the route and such, and it was also fun to be able to set up a board without having to discuss with other players. However, for more complicated games, I think it would actually be nice to have some past runs already, so you don't have to do everything from scratch. As you said, both have their pros and cons, so I'd really just focus on the game, not the community, when making a choice like this. ;)

A custom map in Minecraft is not a stand-alone game. It won't be accepted.

Hey. The rules are obvious to understand as they are now, especially when you check other runs. However, it is not specified that you should start from a fresh save file. I think it should be. Someone might record a run with all cars unlocked right from the start. As it is now, that isn't against the rules of 'All cups' or '100%'. In Stunt Arena, it is actually allowed, of course.

Shall we add pickups and difficulty as extra variables? I think it could be nice, as the time ran with pick-ups can become of importance again, and people can choose to play on Simulation (or Console or Junior RC, I suppose, but I don't see why you would do that, except just for the sake of it). The only issue I see is that there aren't yet too many active runners, but that might change. And by default, the leaderboards will still show the fastest time of every runner, regardless of picks and difficulty settings.

Alright, thanks! That line should be removed from the rules, then. ;)

The original version of Re-Volt won't work on newer OSes anyway, and I doubt many people have a Windows 98 pc set up still. And even if it would work, since XP, there's a 'GO' glitch in the original game. During the race, it sporadically says 'GO' and the timer resets, which makes all competitive modes not work as intended anymore. I think that should be disallowed, even though it's interesting behaviour. RVGL is a lot more stable, and is meant to improve the original game, not make a new game. :) Thanks for your input, though, Ewil!

Hm, not sure. I know DC content is nowadays counted as stock, but it still doesn't belong to the pc version, in my opinion. This because it doesn't appear in Championships.

This is accessible to anyone using RVGL, which is by far the most used version, and freely available, so I don't even think it's like certain games loading faster on Japanese versions. This is especially important to those using pc's with certain Intel GPU's, like my laptop: on those GPU's, since one of the more recent versions (and it probably won't be fixed, has been confirmed by the author), the loading screen hangs/freezes for a couple of seconds when it's completed loading. I did a timing test: if I start a Botanical Garden Time Trial with -sload, it takes 3-4 seconds to load. If I start a Botanical Garden time trial without -sload, it takes 8-10 seconds to load. Also, without -sload being allowed, those on such Intel GPU's would have a clear disadvantage to those using other graphic cards. But as this isn't mentioned in the rules... isn't it allowed by default? :P Are there any launch parameters that alter the game in a way that would be obviously disallowed? Edit: Well, yeah, -dev, of course.
