In light of collaboration and field testing, a new tool has been permitted to be used for future Containment Breach runs. Being the first accepted tool to break the barrier of resource modification, this is a change of substantial weight.

To reflect this, a new text to the Game Rules has been amended:

The Speedrun Mod v0.0.4 is permitted.

This goes without saying; this would not have been possible without @Forx's time and patience in the matter. It is currently undecided how future iterations will be handled. However, being that the project has seen much community support, discussions on the matter will see greater impact on its future.

You may find a link to the mod on the Resources page.

Happy Holidays to you all!

In light of the recent tie between the two major decisions, on record as the stricter and the looser definition in place, a decision has been reached to use the looser definition as a temporary placeholder. This will stay in place until it is decided whether this definition will become more strict or stay as is.

Our current position for no OOB categories, will now reflect on our runs:

You may not go out of bounds. It is defined as being outside the visible geometry of the game.

The out of bounds topic has seen a lot of coverage. We will move on from this area, for now; we have other matters we will be solving. We're hopeful we'll get through them all more efficiently, moving forward.

Thank you all for your help and support.

Small Bit of News

We're now being included in the verifier application form! Users who are interested in helping out may complete the form to get enrolled. Be sure to select the correct game, in the application, to make sure you are considered.

You may find the application, here!

If you have not joined the discord already, please consider joining our fathering community. While it is not a requirement, it will greatly help with communications and logistics. You may always find the link at the header, shown below:

A immense appreciation will be given to @CookiesUnite for her work in setting up the applications.

Have a wonderful night!

An important announcement to make.

With the increased volume of runs and players using autoclickers, we must remind all our runners the illegality of their use. Using external tools to control the game, during your run, is strictly forbidden. This is already covered by the General Gameplay Rules of srdc:

The game itself must not be altered or controlled with outside tools.

We have not explicitly permitted their usage, nor do we intend to, given the game's current state and logistics.

We will reject currently-submitted runs and remove verified runs, containing use of autoclickers, as we see them. If you are guilty of using an autoclicker, please step forward and remove your run. To make it clear; you will not be penalized for any previously submitted run containing this violation. Please save us the grief and come clean.

We will do our part in making this problem abundantly clear. Moving forward, if we catch runs that use an autoclicker, we will be dishing out bans at our discretion. If you have been doing many of your runs with this or any other external tool not permitted already, please stop now. If it comes to it, we will ultimately do what's needed in the interests of integrity and fairness.

Thank you, all, for your continued support.

In an effort to condition myself to take advantage of the new srdc features, you may have noted a duplicate announcement in the forums. Sorry about that! ^^

In light of a new discovery, request, and review, we've added a new game to add to the list of our SCP catalog. The SCP Containment Breach Multiplayer mod is now available for speedrunning! A couple of things to go over.

Categories and rules are currently in a volatile state, meaning they are subject to change. As time progresses and as we get more runs, we will learn more of what we need to know of this game. Only then, can we better guarantee development of a more permanent ruleset. We encourage you run this game if you're interested, as it helps us and you get a more matured speedrunning experience. As always, our #suggestions channel on our discord remains our platform for giving feedback, along with the Forums on srdc. Check out the category, here! Also provided is the invite link to our discord! https://www.speedrun.com/scpcbm https://discord.com/invite/bKeJkZ6

This extends to the co-op aspect. As you may quickly notice, we don't have runs available for more than one player. We've withheld this as part of our decision to information-gather first, plan and execute second. We heavily encourage you to provide your thoughts on how you think we should implement cooperative play on our game. In due time, we hope we can develop and make changes to provide an experience speedrunners can enjoy as an alternate platform to the vanilla Containment Breach game.

Special thanks to @CookiesUnite for her direction, @qv2b and @jorikgrozniy for their volunteering, @Shadow2500 for his input, and all of you for making this game possible!

Cheers! -Multi
