Is there any consistent way to fight g3 i shotgun his eyes and then knife him into his second phase but thats when i start having problems i dont seem to have enough grenades to push him into his final phase and thats when he tends to kick my backside i nearly got sub 1hr on leon B but ended up dying to him thanks
The strat that I use for that fight is to shoot out the eyes, knife him from behind making sure not to hit too far into his center so you don't hit his weak spot (he'll recover early if you do). your first knife should break, continue with second knife. when he starts getting up, switch to flamethrower and flame him until a bit after he roars. Then shoot all the eyes again, do the same behind the back knife strat until the second knife breaks. then throw a grenade (2 if you have an extra) then back to flame. He should die before the final phase. This is for 120FPS, I haven't been able to get the quick-kill at 60FPS, but it is possible, especially with extra grenades. But even with this strat at 60 you can kill him immediately after he throws the large section.
@ryanG-K At 120 i think late shotgun is the best strat and just like @ZeroKiwi says. Shoot, flame, knife and grenade. At 60 you dont need to pick up the shootgun at all. Just empty the flamethrower and he is dead. Look at WR console. Hardcore i do the same and use grenades and handgun for the extra damage. With miss Redfield Acid Acid Acid :)
120...Late shotgun pick up, knife and toss a few grenades. 60 is basically burn him alive to win which is nice cause I like the flamethrower

But yeah i think about 350fuel with the upgrade is killing him on standard
This is my strat for hardcore console. Boss died in 1:20 ish seconds and he didn't grab the giant pillar. I loaded a practice save requires 6 grenades which is possible to have, just hard. I can do this over and over again. Occasionally some bad rng will occur, but mostly he does what I want him to do. This example could have been a few seconds faster I did make a small mistake. Note my grenade throwing technique. No idea if anyone has a faster strat, just trying to share what I've come up with.
