Hi I'm asking this for a friend,
I wanted to know if DIY controllers on EMU and Console are acceptabled. Since a B0xx and Frame1 are nearly impossible to obtain currently, I would still like to use a button-only controller similar to this one on this page.
Or, if I made my own to speedrun this game. Seeing that most often use a keyboard anyways, and you can map whatever inputs you want so long as it's not using another input for the frame walk in Jolly Roger Bay.
Can anyone confirm this for me? It would be greatly appreciated!

These are fine for all uses on emulator. For console runs they're fine as long as you use it for the entire run (as opposed to swapping to it in order to cheese framewalk for example). Sorry for the delayed response.

If you wish to replace your twitch highlights with reuploads, please edit your already verified run rather than deleting the verified run and making a new submission. This makes it a lot easier for us to track which submissions are reuploads and should be less work on your part as well.
