Hey there, I recently got into Super Mario 64. I don't have an n64 handy, so I've been playing on Project 64 Version 1.6. I use bootcamp so I am running Windows 10 off of an iMac.
I recently purchased a Nintendo 64 controller and a Mayflash adapter so that I could play SM64 with the N64 controller instead of a X-Box One Controller like I had been doing previously.
But the Mayflash Adapter and N64 controller do not work. When I try to calibrate the controller with Windows Game Controller calibration it glitches out, and Project 64 doesn't recognize that any inputs are happening.
(And yes I have it plugged into the second input spot which is technically the first player spot.)
mayflash can tend to take some time to be able to function when you first plug it in, atleast in my cases
first of all: buying a mayflash was a bad choice. it's a terrible adapter with significant input lag. the best adapter that's currently available is 3rd generation of raphnet gc/n64 to usb adapter: http://www.raphnet-tech.com/products/n64_usb_adapter_gen3/index.php
second thing: you're not supposed to calibrate the n64 controller. you want the emulator to get inputs as they are, and callibration will alter the analog response. which input plugin in pj64 are you using? try n-rage.
i can't really help you with your issue, but you might have avoided it by getting the raphnet adapter instead.
