I have a run request about a run called Duck% In this run you must beat the game while only crouching. I have made a reddit post about this run and it has all the details, rules and some links about the run. |

How about "True Glitchless" meaning you must finish the level as intended, so no skips on doors with camera's etc, also no portal peaking and stuff. B-hopping i think should be ok though since you cant really ban it without banning jumping. |

I was playing Portal, and I changed the gravity, speed, the ability to not die (Buddha mode), and portal functions (Placing portals on walls) And I was wondering if it could be a whole new speed running sub category? The exact code to type into the console is (sv_cheats 1, sv_portal_placement_never_fail 1, sv_gravity 90, host_timescale 1.9, buddha) that will set up the run for you. Time starts and ends like for the normal speed run. The run is fast paced, and for a inexperienced runner like me I was able to get a time of 33 minutes. Anyway I hope someone else will try this mode and it becomes a sub category. |

I came here to bring up cig's previous request of a 100%/no skip category where you do all the puzzles and stuff as a glitchless run with no skips. |

I have the idea of Keyboard%. The main idea is that you must play the game, I guess in every category, using only your keyboard. The goal would just be to get to the end and kill GLaDOS as fast as possible. In order to be able to only use the keyboard you will need to set a console command "cl_mouselook 0". This will completly unable your mouse movement, although mouse keys would still be able to be used. So in order to prove that the user isnt using the mouse at all, he must have an app that allows the mods to control the binds, such as nohboard, or have a hand cam. I've tried it and I think it deserves to be in the leaderboards since a lot of strats are way harder to perform and I guess new strats can be developped for it. Here is a video of me doing a glitchless Keyboard% run: I hope this category gets in the leaderboard since I have had so much fun playing it. (Keyboard% best category) |

Added Keyboard Only. Also Intended%, No Skips, True Glitchless or whatever you wanna call it will not be added unless you can come up with a good way of defining it. I'd also like to remind you to look at the request guidelines here ( https://www.speedrun.com/portal_category_extensions/thread/zzd25 ) before requesting a category. MagicSalad's request just above this post should serve as a good example. |

I created a list of rules for intended% and did my own run of it. Strap in, its a lot 04 My run: |

This is all well and good, but I think the reasoning for not putting in intended% was that you couldnt define it very well. the route was never the problem, but since the glitchless rules are as bad as they are I dont think this is a very good way of defining it. of course this is just my take on it, but I have a feeling goodigo will look at it with a similar opinion. For the record I agree that this is the route that should be used if intended% became a thing |

First of all your definition is of course very arbitrary. Thanks for the effort of putting together a proper request (and doing a run of it), but coming up with a subjective route that you personally find to be intended is not what I meant when I said "a good way of defining it". |

I can see what many of the problems with this run are and I may not be experienced enough with portal to be the one doing this, so ill put an incomplete set of rules at the bottom of this post for someone else to possibly finalize rules for this category or for it just to die off. I can't think of any way to easily clear up edgecases without making it look like its a "do it like this" run. |

The thing is that you can't make an intended% category without saying what you need to do, and that's the problem everyone has with glitchless, it's too arbitrary. For example, we could take off reportals, but in 18 you could still do impossible strafe to do the flings faster, or in case of movement, maybe it's not intended to wall strafe or bunny hopping, then should we ban that? Same with the save loads, technically you don't have access to save loading without opening the console, should you not be able to save load unless you do it from the menu? What about cl_showpos 1? What about activating the lift at the end of 15 and doing a fling anyways instead of waiting for it? Should that be banned too since you are supposed to wait for it to go down? We don't really want to repeat the argument of "Why do we want an arbitrary category?" that already happens with glitchless, that's the reason why it's just not possible to make up an "Intended%". Everyone has its own way to understand what is and what it's not intended. |

how about mouse only, where you can just only use the right, left, and middle mouse button, and the scroll wheel (so it's fair and everybody can do it) here is a mouse only run by me; |

I would love an "intended" category where you have to play the game in glitchless but also have to do everything the entended way. For example, the skip in chamber 6 and 7, not allowed. |

To quote goodigo: "Also Intended%, No Skips, True Glitchless or whatever you wanna call it will not be added unless you can come up with a good way of defining it." If you believe that you can come up with a consistent rulesset for the category then go ahead and request with those. Also remember to read the rules for how to submit a category here: https://www.speedrun.com/portal_category_extensions/thread/zzd25 |
