Is there a particular reason why someone thinks it is of absolutely critical importance that everyone be required to make two extra clicks to see the leaderboards for the 4-course tours?

I don't really care that they're not full-game runs. There's no reason to require extra clicks.

Personnally I prefer when Mushroom Cup, Flower Cup, Star Cup and Special Cup aren't misc categories. That's just my opinion though.

Individual cups have no reason to be considered main categories, given that they're not even full-game runs. The extra click to display misc categories is far from a major inconvenience, and reflects the status of these runs relative to All-Cup Tour.

I disagree. If there were a lot of categories then yes, many of them would need to be classified as misc categories. But there aren't, and all of them fit on one line.

The number of categories is irrelevant and isn't a reason for separation in the first place. Individual cups simply don't have their place as a main category.

Is there any particular reason why you think it's of absolutely critical importance to change things to how you like them without telling ANY other mods, then make threads complaining that things are not how you like them? Is 2 clicks THAT much of a hassle? Is running 4 tracks out of 16 a full-game run? No.

Thing is, it might be more convenient, but 1 extra click isn't all that bad. All the other MK leaderboards have the cups classified as misc, and I see no reason to make an exception to MKDD.

The cups are a small category in Mario Kart. They aren't a main category, and thus they should be misc.

I would prefer them to be main categories! I think misc categories should be things like Mirror mode, 100% and credits%/any%!!

The individual cups have there own leaderboards in the game menu, Plus you see credits at the end of Special cup, this to me proves it is a full game run in the game developers opinion!!

By the looks of when people have submitted runs, it looks like a lot more people have been doing individual cup runs compared to all cup tour. This could be a good reason to make them main categories since i see people doing these runs more often.

I discussed this with EskimoJoe, Gavme, and MisterIXI, and explained why the leaderboards are set up this way. We all agreed on that all the other CCs + mirror should not be added to the leaderboards. Same goes for any% and 100%.

As for the cups being misc categories: They are not full game runs, and thus they should stay misc.

Also, it might just be me, but I can only count 4 people being supportive of mirror mode.

Another reason would be that whenever we add mirror mode, we also have to add 50cc and 100cc. There's no point in adding those.
