This was the setup used before the current one was found. You can certainly still use it if you want, but it's generally considered both slower and more difficult so I wouldn't really recommend it.
If you can't get the OWW at all then it's possible that you're forgetting to open a second punch card during the text. Without this, the OWW isn't possible. But otherwise if you're only missing the OWW method sometimes then it would just be up to preference which one you do. The main reason the OWW method is considered easier is because you have a much wider window to open the menu on the room transition, and because OWWs take fewer inputs to execute than punch card wrong warps with more generous timing.
I do the PCA just fine but opening the menu for some reason messes me up after the OWW rather than a pc WW
