just 'cause there isn't a leaderboard doesn't mean you can't run it

Los Santos or whatever are just practice categories that are a part of Any%, and as such do not belong on the leaderboards. Feel free to run them and compare your times to others (can even make a google doc, like Mhmd did for 35/36 USJ in VC), but just because you think the game is too long doesn't mean AQuarterOfAny% is a legitimate category that demands a leaderboard.

Aug 07 20:08:49 <Powdinet> I've said it before, and I'll say it again, you can run whatever you want, but not everything needs to have a leaderboard

Edit: and before anyone talks about Burglary category, it's fucking retarded and should not exist either.

I dunno, but if you want it to be added so badly then it must be fun to run anyway

Oh so it's only fun if you can get WRWRWR in an arbitrary category then.

I wonder how they did back in the days when they were no leaderboards and people only wanted to go fast because clearly it must not have been fun ?

Too bad SA has +100 missions otherwise would be not a bad idea (at least for me) to add to the "level leaderboard" all the single storyline missions
Can we have 50% for vc because 100 is too long godbless
the thing about adding categories is that they should add some value of their own. Los santos as a category is played literally the same as the segment of the run in any%. Even 'all burglaries' (which I have deleted since your post as it seems every mod agrees it's dumb) adds variety from other categories.

If you want a leaderboard for a segment of any%, you'll have to make it yourself on a spreadsheet or something because there is 0 chance of the mods here adding it.

This discussion has been had many times before, a few times on this site and a few times elsewhere. I've posted my thoughts about it too many times I just cba anymore so here's an old post.

Running LS is fine, but wasting time RESETING AND GRINDING FOR A BETTER LEADERBOARD TIME is very different. Use that time to learn the rest of the game/learn a shorter game :/

EDIT: You talk about how GTA V has Trevor%, which has a lot of people on the leaderboards and that encourages people to run the game... but GTA:SA has 49 Any% times while GTA V Classic% (The most popular full game category) only has 18 o0 I know their not the same game/been out less/less popular runners etc, but don't you think more people would do full game runs if they didn't grind/reset Trevor% as much? Idk that might be a bit of a logical stretch but so is saying the opposite

I just want to say that I don't think it was "all negative", a few comments on here answer your question why it won't happen/hasn't happened. Single out the comments that don't add anything and look at the comments that do and you'll see very fine reasons, as it's been said, you can run a category all you want. Hell before duping on VC, we would always race and have fun with shakedown, that was never a category on the leaderboard and it didn't need to be.

If you want to justify your reasons to do LS without it being a race then idk what to say but don't disregard all the comments because you didn't get what you wanted.

Holy shit... Ok, xHaviiHx ACTUALLY READ THIS WHOLE POST YEAH because your apparently not reading anything?

"Ok, first of all, I hope you guys (Moderators especially) and the runners take this serious and not simply say Yes or No." Sure, I won't just say No, I'll list my reasons for not doing it (and most other people did too).

¤After a couple people list reasons¤ "Man, this is seriously the last time I'm going to create a Topic here. I just knew this was coming with such comments. Why is it a big problem to add those Leaderboards to get more people having interest running San Andreas?" A few people had already responded with the reasons why it's a "big problem". Did you not read them? Did you just want everyone to say "Yes"?

¤After I link to a fairly big thread about the reasons we don't add it and add my own thoughts as well¤ "But I know before I made this topic it wasn't going to happen anyway because for some weird reason you guys are all against it." WTF do you mean "some weird reason"!?! We literally just spent this whole thread and others telling you THE REASONS!?!

Again, one of the very first things you said in this thread was "and not simply say Yes or No." To me it sounds like you wanted everyone to just say "Yes" and not give reasons.

How about you read the reasons we don't and actually respond to them? Maybe their bad reasons but no one ever countered them. You just said "ew negativity omg"

I'm locking this thread as per requested, but holy shit man...

EDIT: I realise now I was pretty angry when I wrote that, and everything I said Odyssic kinda said better two posts ago but something about starting a thread to then ignore all replies in it kinda pissed me off a bit

Changes to the GTA:SA leaderboard

The GTA:SA community has been deteriorating over a long period of time. Many top runners are not currently present on the leaderboard. This issue has not been seriously addressed yet, but an attempt will be made to remedy it now.

As of this news post, the San Andreas leaderboard will function in
