I suppose this would be interesting, but I think 100%, or an "All major treasures" (da big ones) category would be more fun. Defining what a skip is in this game is somewhat vague as well. The moon "skip" definitely is a glitch, in that you are damage boosting through an object you should not normally be able to access, however what about the launchpad "skip"? It is essentially just a well-timed jump and rope grab, and in the pal version, you can even make it without manipulation. So would this basically be just a "no moon glitch" category? Otherwise, the run would be essentially the same.

If you want to enjoy a more thorough category, I recommend "good ending". The route I used gives the viewer a much bigger view of the total map, and intended game options, like the mini games, and "hidden" map areas. A glitchless category would only be different in the moon stage, and would be boring for most. It would add about a minute to the time. I had a lot of fun routing and running "bad ending" and "pacifist" as well. I'm pretty much all by my lonesome in the miscellaneous categories, and would love to see someone attempt them. A 100% category would be difficult to quantify. You could make it all treasures, or something along those lines. To be honest, no categories besides any% have ever garnered any interest. But don't let that stop you. Routing categories is fun even if it doesn't make the leaderboards.

Yeah, Essentially what Crescendo said is what I was getting at regarding a "no moon skip" category like you mentioned. The 100%/All Treasure cat would be interesting I think, although I don't think I would actually consider running it. That's the problem with a lot of niche categories unless people are already running it, there isn't much of a need to make a leaderboard.

The best way to go about that would be to: come up with an idea for a category by routing it, running it, getting others into it. After that, there would be no argument for making a leaderboard, there would be a need for it. =P

Cool. Look forward to seeing them! Also, there are some good guides on how to do the moon skip if you ever feel like learning the current any% route!

A "skipless" category wouldn't make sense at all, because the only useful skip used is the moon skip (very easy to learn, trust me). So basically a skipless run would just be the same run with an endless moon stage.
