It’s unfortunate that we live in a 21st-century culture where so many comments are overgeneralized and quickly interpreted as insults. Instead of assuming the worst, perhaps we should strive to view situations from a more balanced and reasonable perspective. There’s no need for defensiveness, no harm is being done :)

You haven't even submitted your runs not even a day ago though, and we would rather not someone verify their own runs.

At a minimum, read and understand the terms of service for moderators on speedrun.com beforehand next time.

Yes, many verifiers are inactive right now, but honestly, so is the game, or at least a lot less active than it was in its heyday. I remember having to solo verify 20-30 runs a day. We typically get more verifiers when we feel overwhelmed and unable to keep up with run verification; however, right now we do not feel overwhelmed at all. Although we take significantly longer to verify runs than we used to, the number of runs that need verification is much lower, and so we are able to keep up.

If you get 10 new runs to verify a day, you will verify them daily to prevent a backlog. When you receive ~10 runs every 2 weeks, however, there is no longer a need to verify them daily; we often verify runs in batches for this very reason. I'll also point out that we have never taken longer than 21 days to verify a run, the amount of days speedrun.com gives us before you can start complaining to staff to replace us as moderators.
