For a whole generation, Happy Wheels was a school computer lab staple: one browser tab, one dad on a bike with his kid on the back, and one obstacle course from hell. Sixteen years after its browser debut, it officially launched on Steam on September 21st! So we're celebrating the speedrunner way, with the Multiverse Speedrun Challenge, an SRC Series Challenge with $1,000 on the line.

### **Five Worlds, One Ragdoll**

The Multiverse Speedrun Challenge will take you through five levels, each one inspired by a speedrun classic: Ocarina of Time, Super Mario 64, Pokémon, Donkey Kong, and Sonic. Clear all five as fast as you can (ideally with most of your limbs still attached). The full level list and category rules are on the Challenge page.

### **Challenge Schedule**

- Start: Wednesday, September 30, 2026 @ 4:00 PM UTC (12:00 PM ET)
- End: Sunday, October 4, 2026 @ 11:59 PM UTC (7:59 PM ET)

All runs must be submitted to the Challenge leaderboard on Speedrun.com before the deadline.

Reminder: To be prize-eligible, runs must be livestreamed and follow all rules listed on the leaderboard.

### **💰 Prize Pool: $1,000**

- 4th: $125
- 5th: $100

Prizes may be subject to tax withholding depending on the winner's country of residence.

Submit any valid run (even if you don't rank amongst the top!) and you'll earn:

- **1 Month of Speedrun.com Supporter**
- **The "Ragdoll Royalty" Title for your profile**

It was the game you played when the teacher wasn't looking. Now Happy Wheels is on Steam, and it's time to take it to another level.

Happy Wheels SRC Series Speedrun Challenge!

The Big 20 is gearing up for its 23rd run! If you haven't heard of the Big20 before, it is a semi-annual speedrunning marathon where participants race through a gauntlet of 20 NES games back-to-back, all at the same time, competing for the lowest total time.

The organizers just dropped the game list and specific goals, which gives everyone about five weeks to practice the route before race day. It is open to the whole community, so the roster usually ends up with a mix of veteran runners and newcomers.

The full lineup and schedule are up now at thebig20nes.com. Hope to see you there!

Come join the best speedrunners in the world and race to finish 20 NES games in a row in Big 20 #23! Check out the list of games thebig20nes.com!

Dog Pound Expo 2026 is right around the corner for us, taking place November 6th-8th, and we want you!

We will be raising money for the charity To Write Love on Her Arms in this 72 hour event featuring speedruns, a dungeons and dragons oneshot, a furry AMA, F1 2025 hot laps and more!

"To Write Love on Her Arms is a non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide." We have been raising money for this charity since 2019, making this our seventh year. We have raised over $10,000 dollars over those years and touch none of the money.

Our submissions for runners are open right now! We would absolutely love to have you. The only requirement to run is that you agree to our code of conduct and can consistently complete a run in an amount of time you know. That's all! You don't have to be the best, just someone who can, and wants to run to support charity. Our cutoff date for submissions is October 1st, so we can get it all scheduled out.

You don't have to be a runner to enjoy the event either, we'd love to have you just watch. There are lots of incentives we have available for donating, including but not limited to, a woojer edge haptic vest, an Anbernic RG34xxsp, a Retroid Pocket 3+, a date with GojiBossGames, and more! Be sure to check out the event November 6th-8th on twitch!

Horrible Games is a speedrun marathon built around games that can be seen as horrible (and horror). This year we're back to raise money for [Detroit Alley Cats](https://detroitalleycats.org/), with 36 wonderful, horrendous, spooktacular hours of runs, laughs and a little bit of trash.

**Event:** October 23rd to 25th

**Daily hours:** 12:00 PM to 12:00 AM (no more overnights)

**Submissions close:** September 25th at 12:00 AM CST

# Game Submission Guidelines

To qualify, a game typically needs to be horrible in some aspect. Runs should meet at least one of the following:

- The game has received a rating of 75% or less from any rating body or agency, or a mixed rating or worse on Steam.
- Something about the game is seen less favorably, even if it could still be considered a good game (poor graphics, poor controls, PC bluescreens, visual glitches).
- The speedrun itself is extremely difficult, or many aspects of the game depend on RNG.

Horror games are allowed and will typically be held to the same standard as above!

# FAQ

## **What's Different This Year?**

We are leaning into the dumpster diving and want to see all of the gobsmacking horrible games™ out there! With an atonement to horrendous games!

## **What About Horror Games?**

We will have dedicated blocks throughout the event, called Horrorible Games blocks, where we allow horror-esque games throughout the day. Horror games still have to follow the ruleset above, but can typically be allowed depending on how the runner justifies them as horrible!

## **What Are Some Examples of Games That Would Be Allowed?**

This list is by no means exhaustive, and we judge each game with nuance based on the justification the runner provides:

- Silent Hill HD Collection - mixed reviews
- Sniper Elite V2 Remastered - graphical update, mixed reviews
- Resident Evil 3 Remake - 77 on Metacritic, 73 on OpenCritic
- Outlast - 7 on GameSpot
- F.E.A.R. 3 - 74 on Metacritic
- Shadow the Hedgehog - 51%
- Pepsiman - 25%
