Hey there, I've been speedrunning a lot of Daytona USA for the Sega Saturn. I prefer the movement and feel of this game, but I'm not sure if I'm stunting myself by only playing with the 2D pad. I would play with the 3D pad, but you can't set any controls to L and R, so you would have to accelerate, brake, and switch gears with only one thumb. Is it worth the analog control to buy the Saturn wheel?

Year late, but I've played with the 3d pad and it blows. It was never officially made to work with the 3d pad, just with the wheel, so it controls awkwardly. You have to hold the stick up at all times when turning, otherwise you'll spin out with the slightest tap of the stick. You are much better off sticking with the d-pad. Also from what I hear the saturn wheel blows.
