i'd recommend you switching from pal to either english or japanese because pal is way slower
PAL will probably have trouble with Autosplit64, because the aspect ratio is different, as well as the placement of HUD icons.
If you're on emulator, first of all just use NTSC, but there is an autosplit program in the resources section of this page for it.

oh i didn't know. also if you're on pal, change the language to english, it's faster than french or german.
you can start timer at -1.45 when you reset the console for accurate timing since you're on pal
