I just bought WiiUVC (with intentions of speedrunning this game) and found out that it's practically a meme to run on the UVC. But my question is: how much harder is it actually to run on WiiUVC? (btw I'm using the gamepad. Should I get the classic controller?
Should have asked us first ;)
But yea the main thing is the input lag, which is pretty significant. The controller is notchless iirc, which is bad for some things like cless setup.
Oh and I never mentioned how bad I thought it was. I've played on N64 and normal VC too and Wii U was easily the worst experience. But as with most shitty things you can get used to it. I noticed that with the input delay the correct timing for bowser throws was right in between bombs relative to non delayed timing (if you want an idea of how bad the delay is).
The control stick hole doesn’t have divots on the top, bottom, left, right, and diagonals (like a GameCube or N64 controller), which are called notches and are useful for setups that require you to hold a precise angle on the stick, like cannonless, and is instead smooth all around. iirc is ‘if I recall correctly’
Yeah, Wii VC is good, but JP Wii VC and Wii U VC are the Shindou version of SM64, which fixes BLJs. If you get English it should still be fine though.

Most people start running this game doing 16 star, from what I can gather (i don't actually run this game lol). It's not a very difficult category to get started with, and it's rather short, so there's not a lot you'd have to learn. Additionally, you don't need to do cannonless in some easier routes, which is good because you don't have a down notch which is basically required for the setup.
If you wish to replace your twitch highlights with reuploads, please edit your already verified run rather than deleting the verified run and making a new submission. This makes it a lot easier for us to track which submissions are reuploads and should be less work on your part as well.
