I would like the profile page design to revert back to how it was before. I get that it's like the front page now for consistency blah blah but there's objectively useless shit on my profile now and it makes the actual runs and info cramped and tiny. I'm fine with the news sidebar on the front page (wish it was smaller but oh well), but it is really really unnecessary to see it on everyone's profile especially at the cost of making the actual runs themselves look much less important.
What is the practical use of an "unofficial category extensions" board? Genuinely curious.
Does the front page now only show your followed games? Not a fan of that change...
@OscillatingOcelots Last I checked, runs don't get deleted when you delete a variable, that would be silly. It just removes the variable from the runs that had it. Or if you're just deleting one value from a variable it either sets the run to the default value or leaves it blank if there isn't a default. Deleting categories does remove runs however.
Edit: to specify, deleting a subcategory doesn't delete runs, only deleting categories does.
Hello, can this be tagged as a rom hack of The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie: https://www.speedrun.com/tssmcb ty!
Suggestion to add a leaderboard sandbox so moderators can try out features without affecting a real leaderboard or inadvertently sending notifications to followers of a game. The only "sandbox" usable right now is just to make changes to a game with few followers, then revert them.
Additional suggestion to give moderators the option to submit a run without sending a WR notification, in case of moving runs between boards (full-game to IL, main to extensions) or submitting N/A times.
Adding a time penalty relative to the number of unnecessary collectibles is the cleanest solution imo, but only really works for games under an hour. You could maybe just use a variable for completion and set the lowest completion as the default value so that higher completions won't be shown without filtering.
Hi, Can https://www.speedrun.com/bfbbcl be tagged as a rom-hack of SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom, and https://www.speedrun.com/tssmcl be tagged as a rom-hack of The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie? Ty!
Games with multiple rows of categories used to be formatted to fill the entire horizontal space with tabs. This is no longer the case, causing some leaderboards to look visually unappealing.
I'm assuming this is unintentional because changing the resolution in any way (e.g. zooming in and out, opening inspect element, resizing browser) will revert the formatting back to normal. I looked through a few pages in this thread to see if anyone else has reported, so hopefully this isn't a repost.
Some examples (try zooming in and out on these pages to notice the difference): https://www.speedrun.com/bfbbce https://www.speedrun.com/mcce https://www.speedrun.com/sms
I feel like "Any% no box warp" and "Any% box warp" should be addressed with more consideration.
The "box warp" exploit requires that you have collected a certain amount of tokens before starting the run. As such, doing this trick wouldn't fit into a traditional any% definition which generally assumes you're starting fresh into the game.
As such, in my opinion, "Any% no box warp" should simply be called Any%, and "Any% box warp" should be treated as a new game plus. The latter category could be renamed to "Any% NG+" or something similar if this were the sentiment given to the exploit moving forward.
thanks chris! your kind words mean the world to me. keep doing what you do for the community <3
