Build label 1910503 signifies the 2013 version, integrating steampipe and switching to the Source 2013 engine branch. From its release until March 2022, this version was on steam. Notably, this build alters portal bump properties, making some glitches more challenging and some methods unusable. Quicksaving on this version causes a distinct stutter, rectified in the March 2022 version and not present in other iterations.

Most players use three jump binds. The first two are the mouse wheel binds. The main benefit is that they have a property that because they aren't held inputs, they always release immediately. This is an efficient way to do repeated jump inputs, and doing multiple jump inputs like this can increase the leniency of things like bunnyhopping because of the redundant inputs.

and one other bind is needed that can be held for swimming, because scrolling in water doesn't lend itself to swimming very effectively. I'll use space for the example because it is the most common, but I'll also suggest you try others if its not immediately comfortable for you to hold while swimming

Changes to the playermodel are allowed though.

All of those texture changes are allowed so long as they are not advantageous over the original textures. The only changes that are, as a rule, banned are texture changes to the walls or floors, and changes to the models, since they can affect the mechanics of the game.

It's actually loading saves that makes something non-single segment, but this is close enough

There is a single segment (SS) option for nosla, which restricts you to not loading and saves throughout the entire run including dying and vault save. For RTA, there is no restriction on those, and the leaderboard isn't sorted based on that difference at all.

If you don't want to use the autosplitter you can do this - fair warning if you don't use the autosplitter comparing against game time, your runs will be placed at the bottom of the leaderboard under all of the runs that do:

Right click live split > click settings > check global hotkeys > uncheck deactivate for other programs > set the hotkeys you want to use

To set up the autosplitter:

Right click livesplit click edit splits > make sure your game is set to portal > Activate the autosplitter > open the autosplitter settings and make sure your game process list includes hl2.exe > close the edit splits window > right click live split > hover over compare against > click game time

You do not need audio of any kind for proof. Dying is allowed. Hope this helps

The IL leaderboards are single segment only -- that means no loading saves and no dying. This is a good way to practice though and I wish you good luck on that and everything else :)

Put the demos in the portal folder and then open the developer console and type playdemo <demoname>
