One week is WAY too short for contests. I love the contests, but it's basically impossible. Sure, someone could get lucky and discover new strats or skips, but it's unlikely in a week. Most people aren't even on here everyday, they will see the contest around day 4/5 or later. This is why I will only do contests if the game is like $5 or free. I'm doing the Peggle Nights contest and it's really fun. It's already over though and I just started memorizing moves to the point where id have a half way decent decent run. If the contest was at LEAST two weeks or longer, I'd probably actually have a chance. A week is NOT long enough to learn an entire games mechanics enough to beat a seasoned player in real time. All the current winners have previous runs. Yes, this makes sense because they have more skills, in game time etc. but it's also because the contest is only a week.

Call me a sore loser if you want, but I am enjoying Peggle Nights and obviously like contests in general.

There are a few active players recently so I want to really fix everything on this moderation page and also pin down the rules in a concrete way. Please leave feedback and requests in the comments. Now would be a good time to apply for mod if you want, although I am fairly active so it's not really needed right now.

RULES:

Time trials need to be "default". [I don't really see myself changing this rule it's very fair].

Time trials use the in game timer.

Full game runs need to use livesplit [or alternative tool that accurately measures milliseconds].

Full game runs begin when clicking "ok" on the cup select menu and end when crossing the finish line on the last course.

Skips ARE allowed on ALL RUNS. [Should "skips" be a separate category? I don't think so, but it is on vanilla SM64]

ALL emulators within reason are allowed. [Should I only allow Project64 etc?]

Anything on Arcade, GBC, GBA, N64, sega genesis, Ps1, flash or browser. Most liked comment wins. Romhacks accepted.

Hello World.

Basically, I have been playing Amped Up a lot. The romhack w/ custom MK64 levels. I saw the Amped Up page on here was really messed up. The times were literally backwards with the slowest times first etc. So i messaged the mod and then he left so I applied and was accepted.

TL:DR version. The Amped Up page is getting fixed and it would be nice to have more players there. I'm getting a lot of gold metals I probably don't deserve. The game is really excellent I highly recommend trying it. Look for one of the later versions ... the earlier ones dont even have a special cup. Let me know if you have any questions, or delete this I guess if it's too off topic LOL.

P.S I will be trying some "no skip" runs on the [normal] MK64, steep competition though!

Hello world. I am your new mod for Amped Up.

My first action as mod was to reverse the times back to normal so that the fastest time is in first place! Feels good, doesn't it! I'm not going to change much, but certainly that needed to be changed. The slowest time should not get first place tee hee hee.

Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Hello World.

I love watching people break games as quickly as possible.

I would like to break games as quickly as possible. Especially SM64, Mario Kart, Banjo Kazooie etc. and Romhacks of these games.

I also play Psx, sega genesis and Arcade games. Lately, I've also been playing Gameboy Advance a lot.

I have many goals, like learning TAS tools, cheating diagnostics and especially developing my own Romhacks and indie games to speedrun.

Is there a legit reason that twitter videos dont embed?

And don't just say it's a sh*t site because i get WAY more view on retrogaming content on twitter than Youtube.

I don't really care about embedded videos tbh, except I want to start doing 0 star speedruns of SM64 and it's literally a rule that you HAVE to upload videos that embed. So basically I have to use Youtube? Is there a cheat sheet for what sites I can use that embed here?! Obviously Twitch and Yt.
