Twitter Embeds?

Is there a legit reason that twitter videos dont embed?

And don't just say it's a sh*t site because i get WAY more view on retrogaming content on twitter than Youtube.

I don't really care about embedded videos tbh, except I want to start doing 0 star speedruns of SM64 and it's literally a rule that you HAVE to upload videos that embed. So basically I have to use Youtube? Is there a cheat sheet for what sites I can use that embed here?! Obviously Twitch and Yt.

Probaly because the developers didn't think to embed X videos. I think they only created embeds for the most popular speedrunning sites.

The supported sites on here that embed are (from the site's code): YouTube, Bilibili, Niconico, and Twitch.

You could upload the video to YouTube, put that as your run's video URL. And then link to your X post in the run's description.

The video link MUST embed on the run page (e.g. no URL shorteners or sketchy file sharing sites)

But maybe you might get away with X videos

Since this rule seems to prevent sketchy sites and stuff - whereas X is well known

Maybe ask the game's moderators?

That's a good point I can just embed a youtube video from a sock acc. onto my twitter and probably get the same amount of views.

Is it even possible to embed Twitter videos? I honestly don't know, they broke all their embed stuff shortly after Elon took over.

If all you really care about is the view count you could just upload it to both.

Your right it's the twitter API I looked it up. F*ck.

End of thread

Looks like I will be running sm64 on youtube.

My bad I did like 5 seconds of research earlier and saw a bunch of stuff about the API becoming more limited on twitter. Like you said earlier it's not a huge site for speedrunning. That's probably the main factor. I'll probably just use unlisted youtube videos and embed them for SM64 runs.
