I'm in the process of moving everything over to youtube but I can't find my treasure cove runs on here. Did some runs get deleted or am I just blind?
I'm not a fan of the HR speak and there's a lot of information to sort through, so I'm going to try to break this thing down into real talk:
"Boosting a Board" just means giving three random people access to the No-Ad perk. I haven't seen any reference to adding more than that perk. It's just a marketing scheme to give access then take it away to people hoping they'll think "$4 isn't too bad to get back what I had" and become new subscribers.
So, SRC is going to add requested features, but will only add them for people who pay the monthly subscription. There will be a supporters-only forum, available only to paying subscribers to request new features or modifications. EDIT: features are for beta-testing, access to the rest of it will be released later for everyone.
It was stated that "we wont suddenly increase price at any point", but focus on the "suddenly" part of this post. It means that if the price is increased, there will just be advanced notice. In the same post, it mentions "locking the price", which would only matter if the price was going to increase. You would not have to lock a price unless it was going to change.
I'm not going to get into the donor aspect, because I unfortunately could never afford to be one myself. However, a red flag to me is that in the Supporter FAQ, they thank previous donors because it was integral to the "start of the site", implying that it is no longer necessary. At the end, they thank subscribers for their support, but not donators, which feels like a slap in the face to previous donators. If you want to be a donator now, it is a mandatory amount regularly, and they revoke features if you miss a payment.
As always friends, be aware of posts made by new accounts or by people paid or otherwise given incentives to do so. You all add value to this community regardless of how much money you have or whatever size your game's board is. Stay safe everyone and keep being you.
EDITed to reflect some things mentioned that I missed.
Forgive me if this is an old, long settled debate, but is there a designated space on a given game's main page to add links to TAS runs? I don't mean as a ranked leaderboard run, but as a resource / guide via external link to those who are interested?
Is there a designated place to post links to TAS runs or should I consider it a "guide" / "resource"?
At GDQ a couple years ago, tapioca said that a tas for this game was diffucult bc the rng was variable. Can anyone elaborate on this? Or better- provide a copy of an incomplete/problematic TAS and explain the issue?
I've been working on one for Harvest Moon 64 and I've come across issues with N64 emulation in bizhawk, notably the VI refresh rate can cause some lagging issues, but RNG is consistent every playthrough for a given set of instructions. There's some RNG that I have no idea why works, but it will be the same every playthrough.
I'm awful at actually playing this game, but if one doesn't exist already, I think I understand the basics enough to build a TAS for it or at least address the issues that one in progress currently has. Is anyone currently working on this or want to collab on it?
I have no idea what causes this game to flip out, but I've some a couple weird things on my recent playthroughs. Check this one out:
I just recently picked this game up, so I don't understand all the mechanics yet. There were a couple of weird things happening in some of my latest attempts, and I'm not sure if they're bugs or features I haven't learned about yet.

I want to submit a game that was released under a different title in Europe and US. How is this normally handled? Which name do I use and how can I make sure anyone interested can find it? It’s not obvious that there are multiple titles.
I’ve been playing it for a long time and only recently realized another title even exists, but I want people who aren’t aware of both titles to be able to find it by searching either name. The game is called “Ace golf” in Europe and “Swingerz golf” in US (plus obligatory JP title which is supported here)
I have the US release, but I can’t find any substantial difference between my copy and online videos of the EU version. However, the title names aren’t very similar- besides including the sport- so anyone looking the game up by one name may not necessarily know that the other name exists.
Hello everyone, I'm collecting information about various forms of text storage used in speedruns for a video I plan on making. If your game or one you know of uses a form of text storage, I'd like to hear about it- how it works, how it was discovered, and really anything you can think of related that might help me understand it.
In a game I run, it works similar to how I've seen it used in Pikmin runs, i.e. using text spams just before cutscenes to manipulate them. The term seems to have slightly different meanings in the context of different games, though, and I want to try to cover as much of it as I can.
I've found links explaining text storage usage in games of the Tony Hawk and LOZ series, but I'd like to try to get an idea of how widespread usage is and how broad the definition has become.
Thanks!
Possibly a repeat question, but I'm not about to necro an post from ancient times. A run for a new game was recently accepted that is part of a series listed on this site. I'm not sure how to add this game to the series- there is a button for "add new game", but it seems to be specifically for adding a new game to the site rather than adding to the series. It's been so long since I added the games currently in the series that I forgot how I did it in the first place.

Happy Friday everyone! I came across a murder scene this morning:
Apparently it's not a very happy Friday for Mr. Camel. Who could possibly have done this?
I interviewed the usual suspects- they all seem clean. The door was locked the entire time, so who could possibly have- WAIT! WHAT IS THIS?
There seems to be some sort of trail leading down the hallway. Could this be the clue I was looking for? What could possibly be at the end of this trail?
The trail leads into this room, then vanishes without a trace. There is nothing here that could have possibly committed this atrocious crime; just a cute doggy taking a doggy nap.
Happy Friday everyone! I'm gonna have to close this case as unsolveable, but If you find any leads, you can find me at the pet store looking for a new doggy toy.
Hello everyone! I just got this game and this is my first time poking around over here, so forgive my general ignorance. In one of the other forums, it was mentioned that Wilson was the only protagonist because he is the fairest, but I'd like to request sub-categories for other characters; something similar to this: https://www.speedrun.com/hm64#Marriage
Honestly, for as popular as this game is, I'm surprised there aren't any runs submitted for the adventure mode. It's my favorite part of this game, but Willow is my favorite character (so far). It'd be nice to be able to submit runs using her if I ever actually beat adventure mode.
Also, the "Best Ending" tab kinda confused me at first. There was probably a discussion about this that I missed, but I feel like it should be closer to "Escape" or "Teleportato" or something.
It's almost over! Stick with it just a little bit longer!
Are there any rules against using this? Betting glitch and dog glitch aside, most of this game's glitches are useless, but this one is potentially useful. It doesn't make sense for the marriage runs, but for the photos run, it means corn / cabbage can persist beyond summer / spring, which means less trips to Ann / Maria.
Around 4:00 mark:
Hey, would you mind adding me as a mod? I'd like to play around with the theme and give this page some character so it doesn't look so boring. :-)
Hey, I've been working on doing the Expert levels. (I know I said I'd require a bit of mountaintop training with monks, but it turns out to be not as bad as I thought it would be) The way I do it, I keep some quick notes for which ways to go when it forks, but otherwise, for every "room" you enter, try to visually associate it with a set of moves to get past it, just practice it until you remember the pattern. If you run out of oxygen tanks, it will reset the level, so you can redo levels as many times as you need to get it down. You should try it too- it's not as difficult as it first seems, I promise (and I could use a little competition :-P )
Hey, the trophy icons are pretty cool. I'm a gooby, lol. I might try to get closer to a minute just so I can be a pink star..
