@LeonShredfield The boards are already split in PS5 competing against XSX and PS4 competing against XBO. Not sure what other splitting you would like?
Also, i'm not trying to be mean here or anything, but it should definitely be possible by the majority of runners to not die to either baby skip or the water lever level, it's all practice.
We realize it's not optimal in any way shape or form, but capcom decided the IGT should go backwards if u die (for god knows what reason) and that's why we needed to add the "No dying Rule" in console, it would be too easy to get a good time while technically losing 30 seconds.
Also just to touch on the website thing, the amount of complaints we got over the website on launchday, where the boards had more categories showing upfront, was astounding, hence why we cleaned it up.
Real time would've had more issues for console. ZGL made an entire "investigation" about console timings if u wanna look that forum post up, it has everything and more that u need to know, to understand why we chose IGT for console. It sucks, but it's the hand we're dealt by Capcom.
All right! So first of all, glad someone pointed out the run, so we could get it removed ASAP, appreciate it. Now, to answer "how did this post get through?" There are multiple ways this could've happened.
- The video uploaded to youtube in the beginning could've been WITH audio to begin it, and maybe stripped due to whatever youtube felt like.
- The run could've been caught live by a mod at an earlier point and then get verified.
- Mistakes happen, we're humans and we got 100+ runs in queue atm. We're all trying our damnest to get through it as fast but as fair as possible.
Most imporant thing is that the run has been removed and the correct WR holder has been found atm.
Also please don't think this is gonna be the last time a mistake will ever happen, we're people with full time jobs mostly that do this in our spare time to help the community out, we're doing our best and giving it our all. These kinds can happen on any board in any game. (trust me i've seen it)
@sacred_minotaur Glad i can help friend, feel free to dm me if you need clarification on anything else
Basically what Volgher said. The difference between Standard and Casual is just that the bosses tank a little more dmg.
no not yet, boards will go live today later on, so expect a lot of people to have that strat implemented ^^
@Sacred_Minotaur i would say that if something isn't a 100% consistent with the restart, don't do it, cus then it creates unfair advantages for people randomly without having any skill involved, if u feel what i mean?
Similarly in RE7 we had points in the run where things we had to shoot to progress wouldn't spawn, and that made the runs invalid since it's an unfair advantage to get randomly.
Hope this makes sense
So, on ng casual we don't kill any lycans except for the first one before "is it over" line. After that we just get hit a bunch by every lycan we can find to drop our DA. It's a weird section that has a lot of do's and dont's
Personally i don't have much experience with handgun only runs at all. But i would say a magnum and a handgun arent the same thing since the magnum has different bullets. That's just my take tho.
Getting bit until ur in danger and then healing drops ur DA significantly We do this on PC for NG Casual and it helps the run a lot.
If there was to be a Handgun only category, it would probably be on casual and only use base guns like the Lemi for Ethan and the Usmai for Chris. I dont see why the revolver should be allowed in such a category.
Just on the top of my head i would say, If Urias doesn't appear u can't continue, so you'd have to restart again.
@Liv We expect people to do their inventory fast and not chilling in the duke shop either, we will on a case to case basis decide if someone was intentionally trying to manipulate IGT or if they are just maybe a bit slower on the menus. Unfortunately this is the hand we've been dealt from capcom and there's not much we can do besides this.
Sounds solid, i was just asking because i wasn't sure if there were any general rules regarding it
Basically what the title says. Is it permitted to stream the verification process of runs?
