Hello, recently my request to become a moderator for Super Mario Bros Crossover has been denied, although I'm somewhat unhappy it has, I'm going to try to explain these as calmly as possible (if you are not @Daravae, please don't reply to this)

  1. Only one moderator has been on in the past 2 weeks as a whole, there are 3 moderators in the game, StickeredNolmy being the only active one. If you don't believe me, check there profiles here: https://www.speedrun.com/user/ThePurpleMan/info (2 Months Inactive) https://www.speedrun.com/user/Mars-Does-a-Do/info (9 Months Inactive)

Normally just one mod is fine, however, he has not talked on the forums over the course of 11 months ( https://www.speedrun.com/smbc/thread/fvcy1 ) ThePurpleMans and Mars-Does-a-Do's last forum posts are over a year old: (Purples: https://www.speedrun.com/smbc/thread/w0nug ) (Mars-Does-A-Do: https://www.speedrun.com/smbc/thread/qso2d ) While there is one active moderator verifying runs, they do not talk with the community and resolve issues, such as inconsistencies with rules, although the rules are actually allowed (For instance, Hard Any% says no warp zones, but they're actually allowed)

  1. The Discord invite link is not invalid, you must've clicked on the wrong post. The correct one can be found here: https://www.speedrun.com/smbc/thread/6fb59/1#kirr1 (Posted 4 Months ago, someone joined just yesterday)

@Lul_ecks_dee I'll try on Monday I know someone said its 2 frames

if anyone does actually manage to, they will definitely be known forever in the smb1 community as the first person to ever match the same second as TAS. After (a lot!) of years we will finally reach the final, unimprovable, second.

@Lul_ecks_dee the 2 frames comes from happylee's (or marus) no l+r tas.

@Novawolf the leeway (if you do it perfect) is 2 frames, which means you can rule out the fast accel and do everything else perfectly. The way to do it absolutely perfect is:

  1. Do a perfect fast accel as soon as you start the level.
  2. Do an ABSURD pipe jump that has never been done before
  3. Land on the first pixel of the bullet bill

I think you guys are hating a bit to much on nicky here, basically what he's trying to say is, with CURRENT known strategies, there is no way that we are going to get it rta, especially since the sum of best isnt even a 4:54, we still need to save a framerule (which are only possible in 4-2 and 8-2) and even if that does happen we still probably wont be able to do it for a long time.

Please remember the sum of best is 4:55.096 and the WR is 2 framerules behind that (about). The 8-4 required to get a 4:54 isnt even possible, if we did a perfect TAS 8-4, 4:54 would still not be possible since we only save 3 (or 4) frames based off of maru's tas.

Overall, the chances of getting 4:54 is incredibly, incredibly, incredibly low, if someone were to calculate the amount of attempts for all IL times currently combined + the 4-2 framerule attempts, added them all up together, then it would probably be somewhere very high, so people should realize that right now, and probably for the rest of the year, 4:54 is highly (and currently, impossible)

Well technically it's not even possible multi-segment so right now, yes, it is impossible

@Lul_ecks_dee I think he meant to say people thought 4:56 and 4:55 werent possible single-segment.

@Mars02 he was saying 11 people have gotten "4:56 and better" including 4:55.

Hello, I ran a game a while ago that I got a world record for called Super Mario Crossover and I was interested in becoming a moderator due to their high inactivity with the forums and not logging on for a while. Of course, for the past 3 months, a mod hasn't said a word in the forums, nor has shown any sign that they've seen it. I made a discord hoping that at least one of the moderators would join. But nope. Not one. I'm requesting to be a moderator here, since they havent done anything with the game for the past few months (verifying runs, talking to the community, changes rules after being shown mistakes in them from a YEAR AGO) So please, let me become a super mod or at least a mod so that way this game no longer has to suffer from its huge lack of support.

Like I said, I wanted to be moderator but due to my lack of trust and the high standpoint of this game, I'm not able to, and if I was them, I probably wouldn't let that many people be mods either, just in case, but at this point since 5 min runs are being waited for a month and other games have less mods and get runs verified faster that have millisecond timing and are longer, I don't think this game has many excuses.

mouseman5 years ago

Im pretty sure how the run verifications list works is the oldest runs appear at the top, since that would make the most sense because they are the ones that need help the most, however, I actually have no idea lol.

I want to be moderator, but I'm sure that they don't necessarily want people who aren't trusted enough to become moderator for a game with this high quality/standards. Even if I became moderator, I'm sure there would be tons and tons of runs inside of the verification process, and I would probably be able to verify those non-millisecond timed runs, but especially for those millisecond timed runs, it's very difficult to be 100% sure that those times are correct, I'm sure multiple moderators sometimes work on the same thing without even realizing (unless they have some sort of chat group to tell the other moderators which run they're working on). I can definitely understand where the moderators are coming from, since I'm sure it would be a pretty big deal for a fake run to get by, especially a world record or a sub 5. The reasons a lot of runs get verified quickly is because one of the moderators was watching it while it was being recorded live, because if you haven't noticed, most of the runs being verified fast are ones being Live Streamed from twitch, and also where a moderator is, this is actually a good thing, because if you record then you can always splice it making it much more difficult for your run to get verified due to the fact that it's just simply recorded, so please, just be patient while the moderators get everything figured out, it takes a long time, I'm sure.

Obviously, I want to become mod, here are some reasons.

  1. Most of the time the moderators dont respond to the forums on the forums anymore, I think that one of the most important things of being a mod is moderating the forums, which I will do.

  2. I usually try to be reasonable with people, even if they're acting rude.

  3. I will try to verify runs every day (as I am on almost every day, and definitely every other day)
