Suggestion 1 seems right to me.

howdenking: I promoted the other moderator to a super, so you are able to discuss it with him now.

Cooljay: That guy submits a lot of his stuff like that I think. I don't see issues with people submitting their own playthroughs to the boards, so long as they meet the category rules. I would warn against moderators submitting other users' casual playthroughs to boards though.

-STAR_fox-: The moderators are active with the series, the procedure is to contact them. I'd recommend actually submitting runs of games before asking to moderate them.

Sonicman2005: "Submitted by Sonicman2005 on 2015-12-16" Something seems odd here.

mrtiger92: Alright, he's inactive and kinda disappeared and you have a run.

yoshipro101: He might get notifications on new forum threads. Your forum thread for the game and the fact that he moderated you just confuses me, so please try to sort it out between the two of you.

Kenata8: That's kinda what I assumed.

socialspeedrunner: Done before I got to it.

SilenceErupts: I made the other moderator a super, so he can add moderators. There are no runs in queue.

StarvinStruthers: Added. If some change is necessary due to the titles being identical, let us know. At a glance it sounds like it might just be a sprite swap, but if they visually appear different and were released under different names they should probably all be tracked.

mobiusman/Impressivepigeon390: It looks like a post was deleted, so I'll assume there's no outstanding request.

Trollbear: I dislike creating new series out of two games with no moderator request and throwing a moderator over them. It's ambiguous and unclear who should be series moderator or if they would even want to be series moderator. If another site staff member wants to choose to handle those cases, that is up to them.

xDrHellx, Jumpyluff: I did these, but requests for new series can/should go through the game request form as a "series" in the future.

A thin border sounds fine. Color would possibly clash with themes. I don't know of a good scheme to change the color of it generically.

BenevolentLife: You were added by someone before I got to it. Kenata8: The user was online 17 hours ago. It's possible he's a wizard or someone mentioned the post to him. I'd recommend sending a Twitch PM or a tweet if you want to discuss moderation with him.

Yeah, it would be good if we could just add locked text fields that only show up between the submitter and the mods (one reserved for each ideally). Using public comments to do this isn't ideal.

Maximum is 20 characters, you've got 21. :/

Regarding your primary concern: Descending times is something we've wanted to support, but haven't taken the time to implement. The SMS community had wanted the same for a few ILs. I always have general concerns about implementing more and more features on top of code that hasn't been well modularized, but adding this might not make future work any more time consuming to clean up. Lighnat0r would probably have to comment on the feasibility of implementing this in the short term.

One option to support custom regions is to leave off the region flags and define a region variable. We have the new setting as of about a week ago to implement a variable as a subcategory, so you could isolate US/JP and PAL. ( http://www.speedrun.com/The_Site/thread/lac6h ) I think this may be a reasonably good way to address the specified use case.

dylan8915: You don't have a pending run, so I don't see a major reason to add you in this case. Epitaphios: Apparently someone added you. authorblues: Okay, I added you on the series as well. Feel free to remove yourself if you don't want to handle all of the games.

If the mods want it moved in I'll move it. It's not exactly a "game in the series", so it's unclear whether it should be in there by default.

I'd prefer to leave that up to the moderators, but site staff does have to be the ones move it.

161803398874989: Making URLs non case-sensitive requires recoding some tedious site logic I think. It's suboptimal currently, we don't like that it works like it does either.

PackSciences: "It's obvious that nude mods increases the amount of viewers of your channel." - I mean they'll get you banned from Twitch. Realistically an "adult" category would apply to an adult game. Applying this same concept to individual runs is substantial addition work. Fortunately I think -Guy using adult mod in game that isn't adult and still getting accepted to the board- is a rare case.

1UpsForLife: I think it's tied directly to whether or not the board recognizes the variable as obsoleting. The more ideal solution is to let users choose how runs appear on their page in general, but an update to that probably isn't happening any time soon.

It could be better explained probably.

Assuming your game is a console or steam game, and not a 30 second flash game (we're working on dealing with these better.)

If you want to run the game and manage the board, you should request it.

For less popular games if you follow the speedruns and you know of a speedrun and you want to manage the board, you can request it. (It's a bit gray, but for less popular stuff we usually accept those requests.)

If you saw there wasn't a Pandemic 2 board, and you played that game as a kid and you're wondering why there isn't a board, you should probably not request it. (This form should not be used just because a game isn't listed on the site.)

Worst that happens is the request is turned down.

The intent is that the country answer the question "Where are you from or where do you reside?" Don't take the word "Location" too literally.

This is neither current location necessarily, nor is it necessarily nationality or citizenship. It's whatever you wanna call home :)

At a glance it appears that he's using it to advocate for the community actually listing runs here (and he does run the game and hacks). So long as the "placeholder" is definitely temporary and has productive intent, I'm okay with leaving this one instance with extenuating circumstances up for a short while. In any other case this would be deleted.

It's part of a desired update to modularize timers that keeps getting pushed back. That would include an arbitrary amount of arbitrarily named, arbitrarily formatted timers, and potentially allow for score tracking.

Adding a toggle option would probably just create additional hackish code to be cleaned up later unfortunately.

thread: The Site
United Stateskirkq9 years ago

An admin that has more database knowledge than me can likely do that quite easily in the database with a script. Adding a way for moderators to do this for a new variable would probably be useful.

speedwerd: I contacted the moderator, we'll see where that goes.

MyWolfgoesRAWR: Added, 1 moderator, 1 month inactive

Sambss: Someone apparently added you before we got to the request.

Atomical_Sloths: Gave it to MyWolfgoesRAWR because he has a pending run.

Epitaphios: Super moderators can add users as moderators. I'm pretty sure that super moderator is well aware of this functionality, so your statement seems strange.

schemax: You can look on user profiles to see last login date. Small board with one moderator who isn't the most active, I'll add you.
