Yeah, normally this should go in the moderation requests thread, but this request is pretty obvious so I just made the change.
We generally haven't been adding web/flash games to mainline series. When the game tags update comes out, the new listings might be able to allow flash games to be attached to series without annoying a bunch of users.
darthbuckethead: You've posted here I think twice, and I responded both times, and you appear to have ignored me both times.
Mchan338: General policy is to go through the current mods. The current active mods were added after some other mods were inactive. Also as a generalization, moderation is mostly to maintain accurate data, so if a game is maintaining accurate data, there's often not an inherent need for more moderators.
trunk_slamchest: Site staff generally avoids verifying runs unless they actually moderate the given game. User doesn't have a run and has been offline, so I'll add you. As far as self-verifying, I don't consider it an issue unless you're clearly being biased. Some larger games with multiple moderators seem to prefer no self-verifying.
g0goTBC: I guess that's okay, since it's a small game, the user isn't really contactable and you're decently active with the site and have a run.
Token: Yeah
Tarbash: Added
Uglie: The user is pretty active, discuss it with them please.
Lazerlong: I don't recall the specifics of this game request. I'll comment on the issue generically. Looking back a bit, we can see the user has streamed routing in the time prior to the request, so I think accepting the request is reasonably sensible. The difference between an honest attempt at routing and beating the game once is pretty trivial in my opinion. Obviously we shouldn't just let someone open the game on stream for 10 seconds and request mod, but that hasn't really been an issue in the past. Regarding new users/runners, people join the site to request an obscure game they play all the time. (For Steam, we can't really tell the difference between an obscure steam game and a popular steam game easily.) Regarding categories and norms etc, people who are new may or may not have a good grasp on category norms and things of that nature to start with, but everyone was new at one point, right? In my opinion it's probably easier to just resolve these things with discussion than being really strict about adding games, at least as it applies to criteria in this specific scenario. There are cases that are much more gray case than this in my opinion.
Tigame: I dislike the idea of allowing people to prioritize emulator over console. Emulators can be made to run arbitrarily fast, especially for inaccurately emulated consoles like N64. The option to sort emulator only is available, but having the default on the page not show runs on console just seems like something we intentionally don't want to allow. I don't see any scenario where we should want to discourage people from playing on the original hardware.
The handling of all the non-generic variables isn't well optimized in the codebase, so I don't know how easy that would be. It's also kind of a strange thing to use in general, as it just gives more ways for a user to have the two fastest times.
Regions obsolete each other Platforms obsolete each other -> Emulator/Non-emulator obsolete each other.
I don't have a strong opinion on it, but other items are being worked on currently.
jawibae: There was apparently discussion on the forums.
puchiedarcy: I'll jump here and add you because I know you're correct and the situation is kind of messy. I sent him a PM.
slowfreq: (Neverball) Please try discussing it with the active mod first.
plumato: I'll add you because the current mod doesn't have any runs on the site and I'm not really a fan of not requiring any level of verification. (Should we even still support this option?)
Jesse_Porter: They added you apparently.
darthbuckethead: Discuss it on the game's forum please, we didn't change anything here.
Beardy: It's taken care of.
I added you and joka. You are able to add the rest through the interface, I'd recommend mentioning it to them first if you haven't already.
TheStachemallow: Added Almo
Almo: Added Almo
louiskanak: I'll switch the other guy to a super mod by discretion since it's a small game.
Ikarem_Duo: Inactivity is generally defined by last login, which was recently.
Wychu: Try to sort out it with the active mods first please.
heypro: The mod logged on and added the run it seems.
darthbuckethead: I'd recommend posting on the game's forum to try to sort it out.
brandonhill1993: User had been online recently.
jWb: User had been online recently.
Crackerbean: Removed the user since he has no runs on the site, gave series mods power, and the series mod apparently added you.
Buffet_Time: The current supermod hasn't been on in a year, so that's fine.
benjacastellon: It looks like he added you.
JamEvil: Looks like your run was approved. We don't expect people to necessarily log on daily, or approve runs every time they visit the site.
yellowelevator815: It's a small board and you have a good time, so I'll add you by discretion.
I fixed the games with identical titles, that's something that needs avoided. URLs need redone at some point. Series pages should really default to a "_series" abbreviation.
We usually want to keep games within the same page. You should use the configurations, variables, and subcategories to display the data the way it is desired. There are a few things we want to do with individual pages to add more options, but you should be able to get a pretty good solution within the page with the current functionality. Making a new topic is probably better than bumping an 8 month old topic that is only slightly related in my opinion, but no point now.
kohlmannm: It appears both of them last logged in shortly before you submitted your run. This thread suggests 3 weeks of inactivity, so we'll see where that puts us next week.
the2thomasklu8: User has been offline a month, and you moderate the rest of the games, ok.
I brought this post up to the rest of site staff. We'll see what the consensus is on additional developers at this point in time.
j4sp3rr: He should be able to do it by clicking the super checkbox next to your name where you were added as moderator under "edit maration". If he can't see that it could possibly be a site bug. Could you have him post here if there's an issue?
LouLouCore: He was on today. You can also ask him to be added as mod, that is the generally preferred course of action.
The rom hacks and mods can likely be attached to existing series after the game tags update Lightnat0r has been working on (see the stickied forum thread).
I'll look through this list another day. I pretty much have to check every game to see if it makes sense in the series, and see if anyone in the series moderates multiple games. I still stand by the statement Trollbear quoted from me, it's less of an ambiguous situation to just handle them when moderators ask for them most of the time.
I split up Classic and X for now, since there are a lot of them. Handheld has almost no games on the site currently, and I'm unclear how to move that forward.
Do you want to be added as a Classic series moderator and coordinate Classic? It doesn't look like X really needs additional moderators unless LuizMiguel wants added to X8, and it also doesn't have more games to add.
The long term plan is to add the games to multiple series when that functionality is available.
maglame: I think the obsolete time is mostly relevant within the context of runs prior to it being obsoleted. "This run is 5th today but the user has a better run that's third" is information that can be gathered from simple deduction. I don't know that it's common enough of a use case to need to be worth adding. "This run used to be 5th in 2013" is information that can be gathered from the API right now, but there's not a way to display that on the site right now.
Skull64: Not sure honestly, I don't see anything odd sticking out, probably a better question for Lighnat0r. (or maybe i'm not quite understanding what Trollbear is suggesting)
