I've noticed a few runs have been approved recently without having the milliseconds enabled. As the fastest of them is a (now obsolete) 3;33, I don't think this is a big deal, but I do have a couple suggestions for adjusting the rule.

First, you could set a specific time threshold for enforcing it, e.g. "Times under 3:20 must have milliseconds enabled". Some other highly active games do this sort of thing for milliseconds.

Second—since the lovely devs still seem to be adding new tweaks for speedrunners—you could set the milliseconds as enabled by default, so it'll be much less likely for a player to accidentally not have them enabled.

Is this something people would be interested in seeing on here? And if so, what are your thoughts as to how far a door needs to be lowered to count as open?

Here's a demo run, not all doors completely lowered:

Is there a particular reason for the current endpoint? I'd think ending the timer when the player touches the pearl makes more sense and is easier to verify, since it doesn't require catching the exact final pixels to fill in on the credits scene.

Also, it's possible to jump in the credits, which maybe changes the timing? At least in the web version on itch:

I've encountered a glitch in level 14 during No Evidence mode in which sometimes you can sort of hit a target, not open the door, but still survive. So what I'm wondering is, should no evidence runs with that glitch be allowed?

Here's a demonstration—this is the only spot where I've had it happen so far:

Edit: I asked this in part because the first time I pulled off a 1 Life No Evidence run included this glitch, and I wanted outside views on it before I submitted the run. Now I've pulled off a better run without it, but I'd still like to hear what people think.

Since this has a web version, please add "web" as an option in the platforms.

I had a game request rejected recently with the reason being
We are currently not accepting games that show no reasonable level of effort has been put into development from a functionality standpoint.
How would I dispute/avoid this sort of rejection in the future? It's not clear to me what aspect of the functionality is the issue.

Also, are we not getting emails for game request rejections anymore?

Timing for full game & world runs has been switched to the sum of your in-game time in each of the levels in the run. All past runs have been updated accordingly.

Now that running flash in browser is difficult, I've started to rip web-based flash games to play in a standalone flash player. What platform would this be considered, for games that were released on multiple platforms? Would "web (emulator)" be correct, since I'm playing the web version but not in browser? Or would it just be considered the web version?

The game I'm currently looking at has no active moderator/runners (most recent log in from either player was September), so I'd just like to know what others think.

Are these categories intended to be setting the minimum medal required for each level, or do you need to actually get the exact medal in each level? For example, is the "All Bronze" category essentially an any%, or would you be disqualified if you got some silvers?

Also, what's the exact point when the timer stops?

hahhah424 years ago

So I saw this category added yesterday and started attempting it, but now it's gone. Could you please put it back up? I have a run to submit for the category now.

Hello! I have a suggestion regarding the "one heart" category. Specifically, I think it'd be better to change it to a low% category, in which the rule is to beat the game while only collecting the mandatory heart after the green wizard.

That way, you can still use the in-game timer to time the runs, and it'd be more in line with such categories in other games.

Is there a list somewhere of emulators for each system that are usually accepted for runs? Right now, I'm specifically wondering what's acceptable for NES, SNES, Genesis & Game Gear, but having a full list for future reference would be handy.

I'm not planning to run this game, but here's a trick to save time in one of the dumb levels: If you time your attack correctly, the moment of invincibility allows you to land on the spikes and walk the rest of the way. https://files.catbox.moe/drsko7.gif

Shouldn't this be classified as a "Web" game, rather than PC/Mac/Linux? It seems like most of the runs are played right on the Lexaloffle webpage, aren't they?

I'm considering doing runs for each of the worlds, but I'd like some clarification on the rules. For World 1, the start is given as "Time starts upon clicking 1-1 on the main menu", but for World 2 & World 3, the rule is "Time starts upon clicking Play on the main menu".

Is the different start time for World 1 vs Worlds 2-3 intentional, and if so, why?
