Milwaukee, WI, USAZapp3d, your points are valid. I suppose I will keep it to NG and NG+ for non-custom and custom teams respectively, without an exploit distinction. Down the road this topic may be further reviewed, but for now the NFL Gauntlet - NG+ speedrun progression will ultimately come down to whoever has the best team (i.e. the "perfect" team).
What are your thoughts on removing Single Game to 36 - Fantasy category? I personally feel it's unnecessary to have at this time.

I am creating this post as a reference to an exploit in NFL Challenge mode that would allow for every player's stats to be maxed out completely, which drastically increases possibilities for NFL Gauntlet submissions.
To do this, you must:
- Start a medal challenge (i.e. Coming Through found in Sportsplex).
- Earn a silver or bronze medal to gain development points.
- Retry the challenge instead of exiting.
- Rinse and repeat (the earned dev points will stack with every completion/retry until user exits or earns gold).
This pertains to creating a team for use in NFL Gauntlet. While the lone submission (as of 02/2020) appears to use this method, the validity of using custom teams in this category is questionable because of it.
For now, all custom team submissions will be counted as NG+.
Other potential solutions:
- User must show created team, and -a. categorize whether or not medal glitch was used to create it. -b. --or-- disallow medal glitch altogether.
- Allow use of the exploit.
- Disallow created teams in NFL Gauntlet altogether.
If you have a suggestion for this, feel free to share at anytime. Don't be afraid of bumping this post if it's old. I am open to anything that increases the credibility of this category.
Yeah, but at the end of the day, NFL Legends and divisional teams are provided by the game, unlockable or not. They vary far differently from an NFL Challenge-built team, which can be built to have far more attributes.
Yes, I just clarified the rules of this, saying that you must start your timer as soon as you make the last selection before the loading screen. For example, selecting "Ready" on NFL Challenge mode. Your opponent must be a playable non-custom team and you must use only challenges where the only objective is to play a team to a certain score (24/30/36). This is because teams will call different plays depending on the challenge. Good luck. :)

My thought would be NG would be allowed to use any team the game provides, Legends and divisional teams included. NG+ would be a category of custom teams, which you can build up from both Own The City and NFL Challenge. I am going to add the variable right now.
I am adding a leaderboard subcategory, NG+, where the player would be able to use their Own The City character as a player of the team. One example, WR holder Zapp3d appears to have used their OTC character.
NG, would prohibit OTC imports, as the time spent creating the OTC character and playing Own The City is not accounted for in the timed run. NG+ would fit this rule better.
