@battleonfan1

"3, Playing Yu-Gi-Oh"

Oh how old are you now ? Over here in Japan there are not so many adults playing Yu-Gi-Oh actually, but it's been popular among some of the teenagers in elementary / junior high / high school students here.

RPG games in general from my gaming experience, just because of luck involved rather than actual skills of playing :(

Welcome to the forum, and good luck with what you're coming up with in the days to come. :)

I would say I have got rather plenty stuff I like to do other than speedrunning than some of the others, but nothing special basically - as those activities I'm hooked up to these days I'd point out taking photos with my own phone and camera, going to cinema, reading books, novels, cooking dishes, listening to music at home, watching sport matches(motorsport and bicycle races in particular), going to museum, pencil drawings and travelling are the activities I like to get myself engaged in. ;)

@Hdot12 Doing drugs ? Oo Are you serious with that for real ?

In all seriousness : A masterpiece song from 007 back in 1981 :p

When I first saw the title of this thread I was thinking there had to be no way to skip the section anyhow unless you play on Easy or Amateur, and after having read the post of TC that was it. :)

You can't go into the maze on Easy but the door stays open all along as Phaero said, apart from the maze part in chapter 3-2 you have got some others you can skip on Easy such as the Knight's room and clocktower in chapter 4-1.

Too bad there are still those idiots who steal the videos of other people's gameplays and claim as though they are theirs. I kinda smell some "jealousy" toward that player but it actually does nothing but make himself / themselves look even worse to the others.

What a shame... :)

@pixel_maniacs_chris LOL :) I've watched a gameplay of a French dude actually doing a speedrun of the game before, and it looked so arduous... :D

I don't see "high level" and "top tier" being a different thing if you define both of them as being "extremely good" at video games....

There's no such thing as the "criteria" of top player because people have different ideas / notions about that, but as the general ideas I'm just gonna put following things by which I'd think someone being a "skilled" one.

1, Excellence (Skill) 2, Dedication to be better (Time, making efforts) 3, Industriousness (Be active to do practices) 4, Well-informed about everything ("Knowledgeability" in that game, if you put that in short)

I myself am still a budding speedrunner but I had been a huge fan of The Mercenaries of Resident Evil games for quite a long time and have watched the gameplay of a number of different players. In my view, it seemed like the truly skilled players are those who have got not only actual skills but also can give the others proper advices as to how you are supposed to do in a certain part of gameplay - anyone can be better at that game through the practices by mimicking the gameplay of some others who are generally considered "handy" by those familiar with that game to some extent, but there are few who can really get the hand of it inside out and can be knowledgeable enough to guide the others to their goals they shoot for. :)

I'm not quite familiar with speedrunning in general and the standards of the good players yet, but I reckon the same can be applied to that as well when it comes to "what (factors) generally define someone as being a truly distinguished player". ;)

Half of the topics are ? Hmm hell no I'd guess...

However, I do see some of the topics / threads are kinda related to speedrunning, so we can request the admins to transfer the said threads to the speedrun board section so that we can keep this place safe to talk about anything that doesn't have too much to do with the speedrunning which is the main thing in this community. :)

(P.S. Ohh, at the same time I was also watching one of the videos of "This is how you don't play ...." series of DSPGaming (a.k.a. DarkSydePhi). :3 )
