Wait, so do you just manipulate the RNG by dying? And doing that makes it slightly more likely that you'll have everything in a straight line? Also:

there are some songs in PT that don't call RNG

What songs are these? I'd rather learn these than restart for hours. Do they also have no RNG in arcade and rush modes?

I don't think that's a great idea tbh. Sure, it would eliminate RNG, but there's a seperate, and much more competitive website for time trials, mariokart64.com/mkds.

It works for me on both my 4S and my dad's 6S. I think I understand the specifics of the glitch too. I'll post a vid explaining how to do it if I can.

Yes, unless you have an original Pokemon Mini and the game (both of which are very unlikely- the console is so obscure it isn't even listed on speedrun.com under "obscure consoles"), you use an emulator. The emulator I use is pokemini, which is the best emulator for the console. I don't think I can give you a link to the ROM, but just search "pokemon tetris rom". Good luck.

No difference. WiiUVC is faster for runs though due to shorter load times.

no need for extra mods

Victoria, Australiacros1078 years ago

I actually attempted that, since I have no other way of recording. My phone didn't have enough storage.

Victoria, Australiacros1078 years ago

I'm not exactly sure what the differences are, but I know the final boss in each version is COMPLETELY different. Can you run on any version?

edit: wait I'm a mod, lmao. Discussion?

Victoria, Australiacros1078 years ago

So does FPG and fast 4-2 (I think).

cros107 votes separate categories!!!! Amiibo any% can still be the "real" any%, or the popular one, but I think we should have multiple categories.

Version differences will always be a thing. There's no getting around having a slower version unless you buy the faster one. The thing with TWW speedruns, the Tingle Tuner has been part of the run for many years. Getting rid of it now would be a stupid idea. But BotW is a fresh canvas. We want to make this game accessible to newcomers. Honestly, one of the main reasons people run TWW is because of nostalgia. Not saying it's not a great game, but nostalgia is a very big factor in choosing a game to run, and people will be willing to buy extra hardware. This is a new game. Everyone sees it for what it it. An amazing game, yes, but people will still be more skeptical about buying an amiibo. I'd imagine amiibo would make the game a little more frustrating to start running. Remember how rare some of the smash amiibo got? What if this one gets this rare? What if some rich fuck decides to buy a shit ton of them and sell them, after they've become very rare, for triple the price on ebay? Sure, the link amiibo is common now. But in the future? Maybe not. It's basically just a collectors' item now, as are all amiibo. In the future, people will certainly be turned off from running this game, when almost all the top times use amiibo.

What CursedToast said. I saved up for quite a while to get this game + the switch, I'm not about to go spend extra money on the amiibo.

Yep, this is what I did to get the warm doublet after my peppers ran out :p

Victoria, Australiacros1078 years ago

Oh ok, thanks for the clarification anyway. I tried a few runs but my internet is just way too slow to compete with WR :(

Victoria, Australiacros1078 years ago

Now that CP has banned most tempmail addresses, I have some questions. I have an email I could use, am I allowed to have the text in my clipboard before the run starts? I assume not, right?

Edit: Nevermind, I just tried tempmails before, I just found a working one. Nevermind.

Victoria, Australiacros1078 years ago

dpad is wayyyy easier for me but I know the positioning isn't great for long snaking sessions.

Victoria, Australiacros1078 years ago

Literally just practice snaking. It's hard when you first start but you improve quickly enough. Try doing some time trials.

Victoria, Australiacros1078 years ago

I don't think SGB is even emulation though, it's an interpreter or whatever. Anyway, thanks for this. I'll try to record a video, but it's super hard with my hands overlapping most of the screen (I'm using the opposite hands to play faster :p).

Victoria, Australiacros1078 years ago

I assume a webcam pointed at the screen would be fine anyway. I just want to know because I can definitely get WR in these categories :p
