Four years after the initial release of the game and after many staff changes on this leaderboard, I decided to finally make a discord server dedicated to speedrunning Nuclear Throne, for the most part it's going to stay rather inactive and won't have many people (because it's new and the game isn't as popular anymore) but I made it just so those few people who might want to join the server and ask for help or advice on their speedruns could do so. Recenty in 2.1.8 the developers have added a feature that now shows milliseconds at the win screen, however we decided to not end up utilizing it on our leaderboards. Because of the roguelike and rng nature of this game we will continue running under full seconds and the only category which will utilize milliseconds for submission will remain the Tutorial single level categories.

The boss rush category has officially been removed from major categories and now resides in Level Leaderboards. This was done for the following leaderboard overhaul changes we're going to be doing in the future.

Important Announcement Regarding The Leaderboard: Our leaderboard will soon be changing the way how it handles subcategories and potentially submissions.

As some of you may already know, the leaderboard has gotten relatively messy over the time because of my lack of knowledge on how to edit it, which caused the leaderboard's subcategories to to be made on one single variable, but we are soon going to change it.

Instead of having all of the subcategories (i.e turbo any% and turbo any% blessed etc) be under a single variable, we are going to be changing it into a multi-variable leaderboard where the subcategories act like "filters".

You will be able to choose whether it's an any% or hell% run, whether its done on normal or turbo speed and finally on which mode it was done (classic - no modes, rainbow, blessed).

4-6-8 Character leaderboards might also be united into a single Multicharacter major category which would work like what I explained earlier but there would be an extra variable where you could choose if its a 4, 6 or 8 character run.

This will allow us to make the leaderboard far less confusing and better to look at, as well as allow us to add different gamemodes to other categories we weren't able to before.

Somewhere in this Month we are going to be making entirely new Major Categories into which we will slowly start moving runs from the main categories to, which will take a while. You will still be able to submit to the old categories and your runs will be moved too.

• New Category added called Rainbow Mode which will have a leaderboard of 1char any%/hell% speedruns in turbo and normal speed, not including multicharacter runs.

-Boss Rush category got a normal rainbow mode% and turbo rainbow mode% category.

The Pause Glitch category has been completely deleted from our boss rush leaderboards as it was very confusing to the newer players and in general, was a very tedious category to run and for others to watch because of how the glitch is done.

By the request of runners, a combination of Turbo Mode and Blessing Mode has been added as a category on the leaderboard; Because running normal blessed at this time is quite painful since normal mode is so much slower than turbo mode and less enjoyable to play.

We've changed the leaderboard categories a bit, there isn't a "Turbo Mode" and "Turbo Mode Hell" category anymore, they were moved under the normal 1 Character, 4 Character and 6 Character categories so it makes more sense.

The resources tab in the leaderboard now has a fully updated 100 save file that has everything from Advanced Gungeons & Draguns unlocked.

Because Advanced Gungeons and Draguns brought some new in-game options we would like to say that both "faster movement out of combat" and "ag&d loot profile" are allowed on our leaderboards and are optional for the player to choose. This post was done because a lot of people were asking whether fmoc(faster movement out of combat) is allowed or not

Anyone can now submit runs recorded on the Switch as the Switch now has the same update version as the other platforms!

Recently a bug was discovered and later elaborated on in our discord, we gave it the name of a Pause Glitch which explains itself with the name. It's a bug that abuses a certain way of pausing where you pause and then unpause+pause very quickly again which freezes down the IGT timer but the game still runs even though you are in the pause screen, this can be used for a lot of different parts of the game to save numerous amounts of time and one of the most important reasons being able to teleport using this glitch: if you dodge roll and then pause, unpause and pause(two times) you will teleport, the range of the "teleport" depends on how long you wait in the pause screen. As such, we are banning this glitch from all of the categories except boss rush, which will have a separate category for it. If anyone is curious, here is a general showcase of the glitch: .

Around a month ago or so, I started writing down things for a whole new guide on this leaderboard because around that time teddy and tekkera released their guides so I felt like I had to join the party, I asked some of the members of our discord such as EtG_OJSN, Speedkris, Spleen, Tyredstar, Teddy and Phantom Saber for any things in particular they could think of to add into a guide. And now one month forward I actually came around making the guide and it's fully out now! As far as I'm concerned I think it has a lot of the general stuff you would want to know and a bit extras. It happened a while ago back in 2017 when someone asked me to give them a general list of speedrunning tricks and stuff and I decided to make a channel dedicated to it in our server. The channel will see some (hopefully) rapid additions on generations of the third and second floors soon. A completed save file is now added and ready for use in the resources section. Has everything unlocked in it as of september PD2 crossover update and has a lot of credits for blessed and boss rush runs. One of the next updates might add an option for save files to be chosen to not unlocks achievements so that will be implemented into it. Also, the save file will always be updated as fast as possible once new content updates come out.

After some time I started understanding that the whole idea of high curse doesn't fit in speedrunning at all , it's way too RNG based , I would say even more RNG based than blessed mode itself , the luck that's implied into high curse runs is too much to be a consistent runnable category , getting guns to chop through 3X health enemies is just insane . Most games on this site anyway have only the easiest difficulty on their leaderboards because those are the most popular to run and high curse is essentially hardmode and compared to normal runs , very slow , going against the idea of speedrunning. I am really sorry to all the people (mostly Luke) who submitted many runs to this category but it has to go , overflooding the leaderboard with way too many categories is not good , especially if those categories are not fun to run at all .

People have asked for a long time , so here it is. The leaderboard will most likely be very empty for a long time before new content updates and DLC will lure in more new players and potential runners , so any submits to the board will be very good!
