Forgot to update the thread -- Origins patch 2.0.2 fixed the bugs outlined above. Submissions have been reopened.
Hey folks,
Reposting here for visibility.
Due to some major issues introduced with Sonic Origins Plus Patch 2.0.1, there will be a temporary pause on all Sonic 1 Tails submissions.
In addition to consoles experiencing crashes in Labyrinth Zone & Scrap Brain Act 3, a massive global issue also affects Tails' gravity throughout pretty much the whole Sonic 1 playthrough. Quick examples. There are many more.
This temporary pause includes the following categories:
- Sonic 1 (Tails) Individual Levels
- Sonic 1 (Tails) Beat the Game / All Emeralds
- Sonic 1 (Tails) Boss Rush
- All Boss Rush (Tails)
As there are two Tails missions in Sonic 1 Mission Mode, the following Mission Mode categories will be paused as well:
- All Mission Mode Base / DLC
- Sonic 1 Mission Mode Base / DLC
I've already posted on steam forums / sent tweets with videos & explanations and gave a full write-up on the Sega Support site. I received a non-automated reply so they are aware. For now, we'll have to wait and see.
If there are other major issues / crashes introduced with 2.0.1 that weren't mentioned above, feel free to post in this thread on the Sonic Origins SRC forums, or in the appropriate Sonic Origins channel in the Classic Sonic Speedrun Community Discord.
When posting bugs try to include videos and as much information as you can (how to reproduce the bug, does it happen in a specific game or all, affect specific or all characters, what platform you're on, etc).
You could also send the bug reports directly to Sega. Here's a link to the US Support portal: https://support.sega.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=1900000326053
That all said, you can be sure we'll let you all know if we hear anything official regarding fixes and whatnot. Hope to have some news to share soon. Take care!

UPDATE: patch 2.0.2 fixed these issues and submissions have been reopened.
Yep as Zehher said.
Let's say you got a 23.05. That's 23s 050ms. If you got a 23.50, that's 23s 500ms.
Not a bug, just that the in-game sonic timers don't show 3 decimal places. It only shows up to cs (centiseconds).
Locking this as I feel it is resolved. Feel free to poke me on Discord (Von Ryder#8348) or through the Speedrun site messages if you need any more clarification.

Yeah, well said PimpUigi. Ayo, we all friends now.
But, unfortunately, I'm rejecting for maining Pikachu in Smash 4. Cheers.
Hello, for context the last month has been fairly busy all around with speedrun events and such. And yeah, it does take a chunk of time to verify 'em.
There are a few last full game runs ranging from 1.5hrs - 0.5hrs ahead of yours in queue. I will be looking at some today.
Saw some fishy scores being posted to many S3K levels on the internal Origins Leaderboards lately...
After some sleuthing with SuperSpeedRunner_ (SSR), he found a clip on Twitter originally posted by RoyKirbs and we managed to get it easily reproduced.
This really needs to be fixed... Posting for visibility.
- Enter Giant Ring
- Pause and Restart before transitioning to the Special Stage
- You will spawn where the Giant Ring was, but with 0:00 on Timer.
This cannot be done on NG+ or when you have all the 7 / 14 emeralds during your playthrough (S3/K respectively).
I just encountered a pretty massive time bug in LRZ Act 2. Wondering if anyone else has reported this somewhere, or if it sounds familiar at all?
At the end of Lava Reef Act 2, after I got hit with the boulder from Knuckles and transitioned to the next part of the level, I was at 1:32 on the timer. I went through the jumping part with the rockets, hit the special stage checkpoint and went to the bottom to start the fight. Sadly, I died, but then when I respawned at the checkpoint, my timer started at 1:32 instead of the time on the clock when I originally hit it. So the whole rockets part was ignored.
Video here:
Don't know how useful it is outside of screwing the in-game leaderboards scores up... But let me know what y'all think or if it's been posted somewhere before.
Cheers folks.
