Hey DrMaxtermind.

What emulators are allowed for games such as this? I'm looking to emulator genesis games through retroarch but there are multiple cores to use and figured I might as well install the core that is valid for speedrunning one day.

Are emulators allowed for this game and if so which emulators?

I'm fairly novice when it comes to emulators and know literally nothing about genesis titles. I saw one which seemed easy to use, Fusion but I was curious if I ever chose to run this game what rules, if any, are there.

Long story short I installed RE5 again but the game fails to play after successfully installing. It talks about failing to install the Games Live feature that they added. If I try and play the game Steam thinks about it for 2 seconds then asks me again if I want to play.

I may someday want to speedrun the game but the fix I found (Maluc) was said to be not a valid solution. Is there a solution to this problem?

I'm not sure on the details regarding past submissions though that isn't important. The point or question I'm making is should very hard runs offline be with AI or not?

The reason I ask is that I'm fairly sure at some point I submitted runs where I was on my own for VH but were rejected because it made the lone wolf category obsolete.

For example. In Outbreak having AI can be a burden because you can't start the final cutscene until everyone alive is on screen and AI can (and have) wandered off.

Any runs I may have had don't match the rules anymore anyway so I'll need to start afresh but in the event of future submissions, I'd like clarity over very hard vs lone wolf run requirements. As I look at the boards, there are runs that are essentially lone wolf under very hard but if going solo is faster than with AI then you have redundant categories.

This, of course, doesn't affect character type or melee but any% runs would be.

Thank you.

Hey.

When it comes to full game online submissions, what is acceptable for the mods?

To give context, 4 of us have done all 5 runs in one go but the person wit the best time varies. We can't submit 5 different videos obviously but I'm in possession of all 5 runs.

Shall I just compile all the runs together in to one video and submit? Not to assume people cheat but if this becomes more of a thing in future it would be good to establish or at least clarify the submission process.

I don't really see a practical solution and there's always a chance that someone could compile their best times and submit that but I thought I'd throw the idea out here first before submitting.

Hi.

I'm relatively new to speedrunning and have a big interest in FF. I don't see a category for FF3 Steam so I'm wondering if this would come under Steam% or would I need to request a new category?

Thanks in advance.
